If ticket had worked you probably would not have needed key, but because entered DAZ's key makes me think you were activated because of loader, don't know why ticket did not work?
To tell if the key was needed I would to have used the ticket and then go on line to see if it had activated without entering the key. True? Because I did both, use the ticket and the key at the same time, there is no way to tell. True? I ask if these are true statements because I am very new to this area and don't know if I am on track or lost at times.
It did. I did ticket placement, I did key, I did reboot, I went on line, it activated. edit: yes, rebooted once.
What I need to know is did you reboot Before entering key? or before going online you entered key It's no problem
Installed DVD until got to Win10 desktop, placed Ticket, entered Loader Key, Reboot, connected on-line, now activated
Easy way to tell hows he's activated is run key code finder in QUICK LINKS, it will show OEM Key and Installed key, If installed key is same as DAZ's then loader, if it's OEM key then ticket Yo Lloyd
I ran ShowKeyPlus. Product name: Windows10 Pro Product ID: Installed Key: OEM Key: Windows Vista OEM marker present in firmware. The product ID and Installed Key are all numbers and letters, non of which contain the sequence OEM. I didn't know if I should post those numbers and letters or not. Do you have enough info? I still lack understanding in this area. When I run the loader, it puts out the same key numbers I see in ShowKeyPlus "Installed key".
OK, you are activated with loader, it was my mistake I should have said one or the other but it really does not matter as you are activated, I guess ticket still works as it is still on Forum.
Either way, he's activated with a digital license whether it's a retail key, a loader key, or an OEM key. It doesn't matter how he did it. I upgraded a friend's laptop with a licensed Windows 8.1 OEM after the july 29 cut-off date and he now has a digital license. If you buy a retail copy of Windows 10 and use the supplied key, it checks against MS's server's and digitally activates. Every activation is authenticated through MS's servers. The only difference is the digital license method with the genuineticket.xml method may stop working someday but if you activate before that cutoff date, you'll remain activated forever. No matter how he activated it, whether with a retail, OEM, or loader key, it's checked against MS's servers. So since he's activated it really doesn't matter in the big picture since any of these methods are currently working. You can even activate with KMS to get MAK activation, then do the genuineticket.xml method, then do a clean install with the ticket, and you'll get a digital license (not MAK), as long as it's not Enterprise/VL which is the only exception here. They can change the KMS method invalidating MAK activation at some point. But then, I'm sure some geniuses will come up with a workaround for that too.
