Ummm, thanks. OK, I've downloaded this one. windows10.0-kb5006738-x64_284f27ebf9085b566bbdacbd620294cbd375ab56.msu But it's late now here in Berlin. God willing I'll try it tomorrow.
OK, I installed it. Now I have this: Edition Windows 10 Pro Version 21H2 Installed on 19 May 2021 OS build 19044.1320 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3920.0 My sincere thanks to everyone who has helped me. You all are really cool!
Hypothetically, there is no stopping you from downloading and using the current Windows 10 21H2 ESD (19044.1165) and then just install the necessary updates to be "RTM" when 21H2 is officially released right?
I feel that the same question was asked with 20H2, 21H1 (and probably 22H1) any 1904x build variant + LCU and Enablement Package = official
Thanks, I have lived with Windows 10 for quite some time but all these channels and releases confuses the hell out of me and it's a real mess. I remember the days when you got Beta, RC and RTM versions and then Service Packs. This whole "Windows as a Service" have been like a big Enron ride roller coaster since day 1.
Why not just leave it to WU, you don't have to worry about anything, stuff will be offered when it will be offered
Well, here's the thing. My laptop which I'm typing this lovely message to you from is online and recieves updates as you suggested but my gaming computer is offline 100% of the time, which means I have to download latest CU updates and then install them offline on that machine. My gaming computer and the ones before it have always been offline and that's the way I intend to keep it.
Unconnected device! Why update at all? Each update from "root" "x.1" tends to slow your OS. I'm not alone in this observation. You can test this yourself.
I actually don't know what that is supposed to mean. How can a clean install going from 1909 to 21H1 and installing the latest CU slow my computer down? Besides you almost have to update if you want things to continue working. If I'm not mistaken NVIDIA dropped support for even older Windows 10 editions. So does that mean newer software updates slow me down to? I'm not buying this, and besides it's my computer in the end.
Thank you for your reply, but, if l may ask, what is it for, and what should l do with it? It appears related to 19043, and I'm on 19044. Thanks again.
you don't have to do anything with the file, all links are sorted and published at post 2 by @abbodi1406
19041, 19042, 19043 & 19044 are all the same thing. It's the Enablement Package that makes the difference.
Ummmmm, OK, thanks. Actually, I'm a Win 7 person, so I'm going to have to do some reading to try to figure out what this is all about. I appreciate your help, and I don't want to waste any more of your precious time due to my ignorance. I've currently got this on my Win 10 machine: Edition Windows 10 Pro Version 21H2 Installed on 19 May 2021 OS build 19044.1320 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3920.0 I just "updated" from 21H1 to 21H2 about a week ago, and I haven't noticed (or looked for) any difference at all. ´+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++püpüpüpüpüpüpüpüpüpüpüpüpüpüpüpüpüpüpüpüpüpüpüpü Hmmm, my cat just typed the end of the last sentence. I think I'll leave it there. Thanks again for your input.
