They're clearly removing a few tweaks enabling this and that, but it's difficult to believe they have removed the ability to show all icons and replaced it with taskbar corner overflow! It's clear that quite a few ppl want the ability to show all icons in the notification area.
Was just a "FYI" thing Everyone want clean fixes, but at the time seem no one has figured a way to do what you ask
TBH it's since the feature was introduced in XP that wasn't reliable for me. It keeps loosing the settings for no apparent reason so I always end to show all the icons, and (if possible) I prevent the unneeded things to start So I'm one of those few people
Actually, I meant that startup script thing to work for all the fixes together. Seems Windows is detecting unauthorised changes to the registry and rolling them back on a restart. We might need to reapply all the fixes after each restart.
until ms be a-holes again and remove that tweak, like they did with the other one. is nothing sacred? stop taking away all that good ms!!!!
Has anyone discoverd a way to disable grouping taskbar buttons that will work with build 22000.71 that we can send to eah other through direct message so Microsoft can't read this thread and figure out to how undo it?
This, works both with the undocked reg or server2022 explorer https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...plorer-new-features.83668/page-2#post-1671818 I dont think MS needs to read MDL to understand its things
TBH, I find the new explorer to be slightly better than the earlier cluttered mess. However the giant context menus get a thumbs down from me. Wish we find a way to revert to old context menus till they sort out the current mess and doubling of context menus.
I agree with this, being without a tweak for classic explorer ribbon and using the new icons system, it soon grows on you. Context menus, what a mess (atm).
oldnewexplorer works on windows 11 but does have black toolbar glitch when going through folders. i'm not a fan of the new explorer or the new icons, windows is trying way to hard to look like other available operating systems. to me, they can't even come up with something that is actually new / fresh. seen it all in linux, mac os and android. not 100% but close on various distros. don't get the appeal, atm it's too plain, clinical, i like windows to look like windows not linux, mac or android. ms are re-inventing the wheel but using ideas that aren't their own. i've seen similar icons on crappy 30 day trial video editing software.
Let's hope that by rtm ms will have sorted out the look and added back missing ui features. (taskbar right click) etc.
For me, the new Store isn't updating the apps automatically, is there any fix for that? (In Settings is marked to update automatically)
Spoiler: rem Win11 - No Chat Icon in Taskbar rem Win11 - No Chat Icon in Taskbar reg add "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Chat" /v "ChatIcon" /t REG_DWORD /d "3" /f
