This mostly happened when running a build created from the UUP system, the 22563 and up builds had a problem that appx weren't distributed by the standard UUP system so they weren't available after installing windows. Starting an elevated cmd and running: Code: wsreset -l made the settings app available again.
@Dark Dinosaur would the syntax be just like this for w11??(im not good at this yet, please forgive me) Spoiler: im a dumbass still sorry C:\> Cscript.exe c:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs /ipk xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx
Just: Code: slmgr -ipk <key> works fine. This is only for switching licenses between all Business ISO SKUs and switching between home <> homesinglelanguage.
Hey Sir @Enthousiast its still throwing the error , and the elevated command prompt brought up another message so are you saying the change pk thing isnt pertinent to my situation? or that the syntax i posted was wrong ? sorry again! thank you for your patience.
Those tiny screens are hard to read at all. I think i used the wrong command, it should be: Code: wsreset -i
I apologize @Enthousiast I shouldnt have cropped the photo ! I did the elevated cmd thing again with the code you just posted, and no dice. i *did* get a different result this time though; no error about "ms store needs an app to open" or whatever (the goddamn image is still screwed up, and im unclear as to why) anyway the error is Spoiler: this ms-settings: the app didnt start. the second error (the one not present , this time around ) is Spoiler: this you need an app to open this ms-store-link edit, sorry im brainless today @Enthousiast the change pk thing worked! thank you ! (and all!) i still cannot access the Settings menu(despite trying 5-6 different ways) but that is more of a curiosity/minor inconvenience at this point. at some future time ill want to install updates, but i reckon there are other ways to do so
Hello, every time I connect a controller via the Xinput API I have this window that opens since the latest versions of Windows 11, do you know if we can prevent gamebar from opening when you plug in a controller ? However, I disabled and removed the option with MSMG. Thanks.
I copy-pasted from my reddit post, probably formatting got screwed / localization issue, so I made an edit to work only via powershell (them quotes).
Thanks for this update(d) script ... worked nicely for me ,- my pet hate = MS store have used a few of other items from your 'script repo" ....thanks Question: is there a way to STOP INSTALLATION of JUST THIS ONE PARTICULAR UPDATE in Win11 for Enterprise (22H2) version? eg: (KB5015818) - keeps failing with various different error code (over 5 times trying to install - see file attached) eg: or "Lenovo - Extension" ((don't know what this 'extension really does)) not much docomo 'ation eg : Realtek Camera + software = dont even want to use "camera" - thus disabled in Control Panel
My guess: They don't deem it necessary anymore because of their KIR (Known Issue Rollback) system. This could backfire some day.
