Just a question, is that even possible to have Windows 10 or 11 without any telemetry at this point, no AI, no search, just the OS to run software and the libs that goes with? asking for a friend. ( who won't accept freedom )
Aside from customizing Windows, you can also block connections via DNS or HOSTS. For example, when you block MSN in Edge, you will get a clean new tab, since MSN is used as a startpage.
recent web browser history works again in beta channel if you reset start then reboot. Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.Windows.StartMenuExperienceHost | Reset-AppxPackage then add vivetool /enable /id:41981645 vivetool /enable /id:42905461 reboot its been broken for a while, not sure it was the reset of start that fixed or the latest beta update Not sure how long it will last either You need edge browser obviously
Damn, that's terrible implementation then. Idk why Microsoft plays around with stuff that's working fine and makes it more complicated and unusable.
I managed to fix the context menu lag issue, has nothing to do with the optimization nor the OS itself, the bloatware that comes with OS right OOTB is the culprit. Anyways, I managed to fix the issue by uninstalling all the uninstallable bloatware that comes installed with Windows 11 by default with Revo Uninstaller and then removing all the remnants of said bloat along with it, that fixed the context menu lag issue. So, yeah if anyone is bothered by the same issue in the future direct them to my solution.
Has anyone a recommendation for the lost toolbars? I don't want to run a "patcher", one registry tweak would be ok though. Or a free third-party tool. I found TrayToolbar which will be the next best thing if no one has something better.
