Decided to go back to Win7 (just cba with 10 anymore, so much effort for nothing really) and.. yeah.. 518 pages! Nice! Have we a "guide" of sorts one may read for some pointers? Reading the last pages in this thread only served to confuse me further Assuming the answer's "no" and further assuming anyone has the patience, pointers would be welcome. Currently downloading an Ultimate SP1-U.iso if that's of import; step two is to find thelatest version of abbodi's update client (most recent post links to a 2016 version[?], so searching manually for a newer one); step three would be, hopefully, what you guys tell me to ^^ (i'll read it all if i have to, but i'd rather ask first; if this somehow offends your sensitivities, by all means ignore this and sincere apologies)
Download a windows 7 ISO here: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...3-ltsb-2016-2015-server-2016-techbench.77028/ Update by downloading the Updates using WHD and integrate them using W7UI Or update the iso using Simplix Pack: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...egrate-hotfixes-into-win7-distribution.45005/
Thanks for replying Enthousiast I read through the post you linked in the 77028 thread and while a mention of win7 is being made up top, all the links (within said same post) refer to Win10 builds.. I know i'm missing something, but can't find it.
The CMD offers win 7 Ultimate and Enterprise: Code: v0.30.18 --fixed a bug in creation of Win 7 Enterprise en-us (thanks to Sajjo) v0.30.15 --switched to a more reliable host for Windows 7 sources (thanks to mkuba50 and Enthousiast) v0.30.08 --removed file decompression, too error-prone v0.30.01 --changed file handling, now is checked/decompressed when accessing main menu --switched to VBS File2Batch by aveyo aka BAU for better OS compatibility --adapted all processes to new file handling --added Win 7 Download option for Ultimate/Enterprise (thanks to mkuba50 and Enthousiast) --removed redundant code from processes
#imwithstupid Thanks again man, will give it a try in a guinea pig system, see if i can sort it without bothering you all any further
What a mess. Can anyone shed light for me? Now, to update Windows 7, should I use Convenience Rollup or install individual updates? Is installing Convenience Rollup still OK now (given that MSFT has severely messed up WU ) And IIRC the latest version of Update Agent is still July 2016 rollup, isn't it? Thank you and happy new year.
Let's assume that I do not install KB4480955, because this is a Preview of Monthly Rollup. I install KB4480970 instead. As such, do I need to install KB4487345? Thank you very much for the confirmation.
