This is great, i'm honestly probably going to go for w7 on 3700x at least to try it, since im reinstalling win and im converting my disk to mbr, so there will be no loss of data on my only disk, and im getting a hdd so ill always be able to dual boot soon i got 3 pendrives, one w7 updated with drivers etc 2019 with my x370 chipset, will do the trick with front usb obviously, one w10 1607 ltsb, and one w10 1903 msmgtoolkit'ed latest latest build of tonight 04-08-2019, will use either that works best, all mbr very happy that you made this tool, btw tez jestem z polski (i'm Polish too) you are great and if you ever do another version i can't wait of the image updater, long live non-windows-as-a-service OSes
With the Rufus USB it says 'NTLDR missing.' With WintoUSB it says 'The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click OK to restart the computer, and then restart the installation.' I was under the impression that Both Rufus and WintoUSB were creating a portable OS USB, not creating an installation USB to install to the internal drive?
1. Yes, we were creating a Portable / USB Win 10 1803 OS. 2. Did you download & use untouched M$ win 10 ISO ? 3. Did you choose 'Windows To Go' while using Rufus ? 4. Did you use USB 3 pen drive with USB 3 port ?
Sir(s), Updated : Sorry, Windows To Go is only available if you are running Rufus on Windows 8 or later
1. SLOW SPEED : (a) The slow speed in a 'Windows To Go' is not unexpected. Still I thought if you could try installing NTLite in it & loading your Customized ISO of Win 7 to check against the missing drivers for the RAID Array. (b) The other way may be to use a Win 10 PE/RE. That PE/RE should have NTLite integrated into it & it should be able to load win 7 ISO. I can't suggest any such PE/RE right now but I am planning to make one such because it would be very handy. (c) The more practical way is to set up RAID0 Array, Install windows 10 on it, Install NTLite in it & then load your customized ISO into it. 2. You did not answer what exactly happens when you setup RAID0 Array & then try to install your customized win 7 on it. 3. Its time when you should get to know about MBR/GPT & UEFI/Legacy BIOS/CSM. Would you like to get into it ? Its vital to know about that whether you are preparing an installation media or Windows To Go. For eg. the Win10 's 'Windows To Go' boots on your Z77 & not on your Z390. Thanks & Regards. ...
Thank you OP!! My Ryzen 3700x with Strix X470-F works with Windows 7 I needed a legacy version of Windows to unlock my phones as the drivers don't appear to work on 10, guess what, your build worked so cheers - this has helped me a lot Just that a couple of PCI drivers cannot be installed - as there isn't any, but replugging the rear I/O port USBs works, so thanks. Also, the temps are much better on 7 than 10, something I did not expect, that AMD chipset optimisation must be utter crap.
The install disk does not recognize the array. As in; there is no drive to install on. No IRST drivers for Z390 and W7 exist, to the best of my knowledge.
1. This is the answer I had been looking for! 2. Have Patience! It may have been true a two years ago but not as of now because people have found hidden drivers. And there are modded drivers & so on. ...
