I went and used that link to download the SVF file which would allow for me to get Windows 7 Pro N VL from a Windows 7 Ultimate N iso. The Windows 7 Ultimate N ISO I have already matches the hashes in the #ISO.sha file provided, yet Smartversion just closes when opening the SVF file. Is there a reason for this? EDIT: I just solved this myself. Turns out I had to use Smartversion 3.0 to use the SVF file for some reason. I guess it's a simple compatibility issue.
Always use the most current version of smv, the software itself is not really needed, there are a few tools for it, more info: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/smartversion-tools-scripts.79415/
I know to do that, but some of them would just give me a general error when attempting to use the SVF file. After that I decided to try using an older version of the software itself. Also the hash of the resulting Windows 7 Pro N VL iso created matched the hash provided, which means I shouldn't have any issues with the file. Should I attempt the process again with one of the latest tools though?
@daniel_k https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/windows-embedded-standard-7-keys.28555/ There are no leaked keys for POSReady 7
Thanks, abbodi1406! Just wanted to clarify that POSReady 7 keys for offline activation do exist, like the ones for WES7. Being the longest supported SKU of Windows 7, hopefully some key will leak eventually.
@abbodi1406, as you know it all, I have a question. Would it be possible to convert a standard ISO of Windows 7 (Ultimate SKU, for instance) to a POSReady 7? I was thinking about adding the POSReady 7 Feature Packs, such as WinEmb-SKU-POSReady7, WinEmb-Security-SPP-SKU-GVLK-PosReady7, WinEmb-Security-SPP-PkeyConfig-PosReady7 and WinEmb-Branding-Embedded-POSReady7. Then change the SKU somehow (I've seen it can be done with some tool). Can it be done online? My thought is that I'd have a complete feature install of Ultimate, but the license part would be POSReady 7.
@daniel_k not all most POSReady packages require Microsoft-Windows-EmbeddedCore-Package, which is the equivalent Microsoft-Windows-Foundation-Package i don't think the system can accept two foundation packs besides, most Windows features are controlled by the active product licenses policies installing embedded key will break some ultimate features
