    I have a x86 computer with 2 GB ram, so I can't use the MICROSOFT.WINDOWS.8.ENTERPRISE-N.RTM.X64.VOLUME.ENGLISH.DVD.:(

I have looked around on the internet, but couldn't find a x32 version.

Does anybody know where to download a x32 version of Windows 8 RTM?

Or is the so called x64 version a combi DVD, that also contains the x32 version?

    Thanks!:)

works fine in vmware so cannot see your problem... You must be doing something wrong or have some incompatible hardware...

Because most people need the x64 version, not the x86 version. The proper market for x86 is actually very very small, but some people will still run it despite having 8GB of RAM, 2GB video card etc.. just like with Windows 7.

Also the leaker may only have access to the x64 version.

You're very lucky Microsoft is even releasing a x86 version of Windows 8.

Besides that: people like me that only have 2 GB ram, don't have a choice: we are only able to run the x86 version.

Of course I really wanted to try the RTM as well - that's why I started this thread in the first place :D -, but I clearly understand that I belong to a minority today, as most part of the computers is of the x64 generation. In that respect it is even very logic that they leaked the x64 version, and not the x32 bit RTM.

But I am glad for the majority that is now able to try and show us what it is like! It's very interesting for me to read what their experience is with the RTM. I completely feel with the majority, and I just have to be patient! It is not to bad to learn to exercise patience!

so what if someone have 2GB RAM? Still possible to instal x64 system, of course we need a x64 arch cpu, but even intel pentium 4 support x64 arch :)

Yes, if you have a 64-bit CPU, you can install Windows 8 64-bit with 2 GB RAM and it would run just fine.

Glad I could help... now eventually someone will release the 32-bit version, if not, it will get leaked on Aug 15, as all MSDN/Technet and many others will get Windows 8 ISOs on Aug 15, 2012

Yes, that is in my mind. I'll wait and probably will see a leaked 32-bit version in medio August. If it is leaked earlier, I will regard it as good luck and an unexpected advantage!

Couldn't see what so lucky about it, ARM only in 32 bit, so MS develop windows in 32 bit, unless they want to develop windows in 3 architectures.

Why would it be developing Windows in 3 architectures? they are already doing that. x86, x64, ARM. If they dropped x86 for Windows 8, there would only be ARM and x64.

The real downside is a lot of people still believe they need to use 32-bit Windows, even if they have 4GB+ RAM and a processor that supports it.

Is there any reasons not to install the 64bit version of Windows if your system supports it? I have a laptop a few years old now (dell xps m1530), and I've always ran 32bit versions of Vista/7.

Just wondering if there's likely to be any kind of performance issues or problems?
