Oh, I don't doubt that it scans to make sure that you are indeed installing on HP hardware. But it must be using a different oem method, not a slic based activation. Perhaps HP has completely abandoned slic based activation in recent years, which would explain the lack of HP 2.6 or 2.7 bins and certs. It's all above me too.
I tried to have Lutschpuppe slic my hp proliant gen 8 server but he said something to the affect HP bios are tough to work on. HP makes them impossible. So I don't know CaptainKirK1966. Found this on page 1 of https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/oa-2-x-slic-oemcert-collection.5952/ "To dump SLIC BIN, cert, and OEM:SLP key from a physical PC running factory installed Windows use OEM Dump "
Thanks @Tito - I was wondering if rw-everything might possibly show a slic that needs to be unlocked. I also presume it was you who moved this discussion to a more appropriate place.
@CaptainKirk1966 My experience with HP server SLIC modding is fairly limited, and I don't think we have any simple method to unlock the SLIC table on them like we can do on Dell servers, but yes, a full-fledged RW-Everything report might end many confusions in this particular scenario. To recall, AcpiDump is also a handy utility to dump the SLIC table.
As far as I know, ROK will not integrate retail keys, so the problem is, either there is a problem with the image, or I am short-sighted In my offline Storage Server, I have archived HPE ROKs from 2008-2022, as well as individual versions of DELL, Lenovo, Supermicro, and some image archives from local European manufacturers. I have never seen the problem you mentioned. , please don’t ask me for anything for the time being. I live in another city now. I will take it out as comparable evidence when I have time to go back.
