what's crazy is i can copy all the games from my upstairs xb1 and pop them on my downstairs one, saving me hours of re-downloading, yet you can't do the same on the pc... same windows 10 build on all my computers, same ms account, they seriously need to add a backup / transfer option to the windows store for pc to pc.
is backup of windows store games really not possible? done a little bit of registry digging and found; BACKUP_ELIGIBILITY , dword set to 0 it's under; HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AppModel\SystemAppData for each installed app and they are all set to 0 any ideas? i really hate reinstalling 50-60gb games when i restore my pc... you can backup origin and steam games, not sure about uplay but not windows store games.
Unfortunately, Windows Store is a big fail. Unlike other digital stores, it just does not allow you to backup its data and save your time and bandwidth. The most user unfriendly software. Shame on you Microsoft.
why on earth has no one at microsoft thought maybe the store should have a backup / restore feature? to save time from re-downloading those obese 50+gb games? does this not come up in their customer feedback? has someone sugguested it in feedback? i want to buy fh3 and halo wars 2 but can't be arsed to download the game twice on different pc's to play. steam and origin can find stuff already installed. i think if they added that feature the store would instantly be less crappy that is is right now...
Serious question: why would anyone download a game from the windows store when you can use steam, for instance, and back up the game and still be able to play it if you ever decide to play it on a different OS? If anyone can explain this I'd like to hear it.
GOG allows me to throw entire games on flash drives and install them on however many computers I want. Now THAT'S a backup.
