By "Search for updates every day," how many times does WUM search for updates in 24 hours? Once? If yes, why let it sit for 24 hours?
I mean, if it checks only once a day, why do I have to keep it running? It might be more practical to run the program when I want to check for updates, then close it afterwards? Perhaps, I am missing the original logic here?
mmh.... according to my tests the issue only appears if you use the "select all" check box, when selecting the updated one by one the install button works. can you confirm that? will be fixed in 0.9b
Confirmed that with 0.9a "select all" check box leaves install button greyed out, selecting updates separately leaves install button functional. Funny thing, selecting each update separately checks the "select all" check box automatically leaving the install button functional.
I just want to say... Herculean attaboy for effort by @DavidXanatos for not only creating this fully open source Gen2 WU tool, but for also staying on top of the repairs, updates, & revisions (11 in 3 1/2 months!) being suggested to de-bug a complex tool like this. Not to mention the extra work needed to make WUmgr more user friendly than the Gen1 WUMT. I for one will be contributing to the cause.
When you select just one item, the "Select all" check box just has a black square (not a check mark) in it, which seems to be conventional notation for "some but not all," as is evident when selecting which Windows features to turn on or off. Also, playing around with the check boxes, I found that if you first check one item then uncheck it, "Select all" seems to work.
