Anyone knows why WUMT 1.0 under Windows XP fails preliminary scan both online an offline with code 0x800b0003 or 0x800B0100 after IE8 install? Update Agent 7.6 is installed and latest SHA-1 signed wsusscn2.cab is provided, and before IE8 is installed, everything works properly, can restart the machine and scan again, but after IE8 is installed, it fails. Funny, if IE8 is uninstalled, WUMT works again. Only if you have saved \Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download folder from a previous online update copied over the new install, you also must provide SHA-1 signed wsusscn2.cab which I think it's from july 13.
Last version 07.01.2020 x64 -- not work with Win 10.1903 HOME. I mean - it doesn't disable searching updates and WIndows proceed searching drivers. .Alas. alas ....
Anyone able to advise about running this tool on XP (32bit, SP3, Pro), keeps giving a "Class not registered, Class ID" error when I run the 20.12.2016 version?
Just out of curiosity, asking, why this tool (WUMT) isn't being updated for so many long times, in the last 5 years?
Hello all, Is anyone still using wumt in 2021? I recently come across this tool to try to get legacy windows (XP / Vista) updated. It wasn't all that easy to make it work at first. I had to follow the instruction on OP, glancing through last few pages and making adjustments accordingly. And here I'm stuck in this strange situation where on XP, I have no trouble using offline option at all; it works as it should. However in Vista, the log shows searching for updates were succeeded but 0 windows update were shown. My vista sp2 (clean install, untouched) had .net framework 4.6, latest WUA, kb4493730 & kb4474419, wsusscn2 signed july 2020 with sha-1 and sha-2. Is anyone experiencing the same?
Yes, using it all the time, for reference or installing updates. Not for old products, but current products.
Thanks I will definitely look into it if I can't get WUMT cracked. As to why it showed 0 updates most likely has to do with kb4474419 which makes Vista .0001 build up to 6.0.6003. Without the patch it now takes forever searching for updates...
