hey, do you mind asking win32 if the haswell+ fixes are going to be separate and if its going to apply to vista in general regardless of service packs?
for example, if the haswell fix works for vista rtm, will it work for vista sp1 and later?

Well, KB4493471 update partially fixes the Haswell+ issues, and also one guy installed Windows Vista x86 on his Haswell PC, and he did not ran into Haswell+ issues, but however, for his GPU (Intel HD Graphics 4600) there is no driver for Windows Vista, but there is driver for Windows XP, and the modded Windows XP driver breaks his Vista, but he is also tried Windows Vista x64 (without KB4493471) on the same PC, and he did ran into Haswell+ issues

i already know all of this.
i already tried vista x86 on my pc which has an i5 4460 which worked perfectly fine and i did get the same issues on x64.
just asking if the haswell+ fixes apply to all versions of vista and if its not required to have the extended kernel for the fix.

Idk, but I have AMD Ryzen 5 3500U, and I tried to install Windows Vista x64, and it installs fine, but bluescreening, which renders Windows Vista slightly unusable on Ryzen

blue screening during installation or through just general use?
have you tried disabling all the usb controllers under device manager to see if it alleviates it?

Nope, but I am also wondering if fully updating Windows Vista up to 2022-02 will (partially) fix the Ryzen issues

You didn't use updated vista when you tried it? In my opinion it's the most critical thing, I mean 2006 OS is pretty old

Nope, but I used Vista SP2, and updating Windows Vista on Ryzen is practically impossible due to bluescreening, but I am planning to create a fully updated Windows Vista ISO anyway, so... I will in some day test it (though I need to backup my Windows Server 2008 R2 through Acronis True Image and delete all partitions from my 2nd hard drive (again with backup using Acronis True Image before doing that))

Do you get the bluescreens before or after the gui has started? Maybe you could make a script to install the updates you want and run it through the RunOnce registry key. It will then run on the next restart in pre-GUI environment exactly after the welcome message and before you see the desktop.

Bluescreening is random, they appear sometimes after Windows Vista logo animation and before login screen, they sometimes appear when doing something, and they sometimes appear even when shutting down/restarting, with random error codes such as IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, BAD_POOL_CALLER, etc

What is your Ryzen model? And this issue does not happen on all Ryzen configurations AFAIK, but on my Ryzen (AMD Ryzen 5 3500U) it does happen

hey, have you tried looking at bluescreenview to see which drivers could be causing it?
maybe if it turned out to be the usb drivers, you could perhaps force disable them through the registry.
also, next time when the bsod triggers, you might need to make it set to make minidumps instead of a huge memory.dmp file which i think is usually stored at c:\windows\.

No, but however, I still need to verify if fully updated Windows Vista up to 2022-02 is also affected by Ryzen issue
