Hi sebus, Could you please help me reupload the file? The SendSpace link is now expired. Thanks! Much appreciated! Regards, Andy
Yes. It did work on VMware. However, I would like to see if I can make the loader work on Parallels Desktop as Parallels do not allow custom BIOS and DMI injection. In this case, only a loader or AntiWPA works.
I have an MSDN VL ISO and some VL keys that are not blacklisted. It's just I want to see if I can activate XP via OEM:SLP. Specifically, the MCE one... It has no VL and a conversion from VL to MCE has some issues when launching MCE components.
I've read that HP OEM:SLP strings are easier to insert in memory, but I've never tried to do it with grub4dos. Haven't tested recently, but I suspect any VL key would work these days. Microsoft has most likely shut down any sort of XP validation.
The problem is that even if I tried inserting OEM:SLP strings in memory via Grub4DOS, Windows is still not activated with the matched OEMBIOS files on both VMware and Parallels Desktop. The "debug" utility shows that the string is gone after loading Windows. I don't know if I have done something wrong or it is simply VMware and Parallels elevated their memory protections. That's why I would like to get the loader file to see what I can do to fix the issue. I wrote to the Grub4DOS via this tutorial: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/windows-xp-oem-loader-for-virtualpc-2007.22866/#post-337312 As for VL keys, yes, none of them is blacklisted anymore. The infamous YBVJB one now passes Windows Media Player 11 and Internet Explorer 8 validation checks when installing as the validation servers are down.
