1. No need for VOL CD, unless you have a VOL CD, from work? And want change it to OEM CD. Anyway --> 04-21-2008, 05:35 PM I got this question: 2.Simply because a VOL cd with an OEM .CA_, very often results in errors and you can not complete your installation. See the above error description. 3.Additional Attachements for you below. Thanks to all authors 4 hard work. With your Tech knowledge maybe the .CA_ issue can be explained further?
Yes, thats all you need to do, but u must be sure to have correct oembios files for ur system, then u are all fine. be sure to run oembios.exe first to make sure your system can be preactivated. it converts ur system to an oem system with oem serial key, and copies oem pidgen and dpcdll thats included. make sure u place the .exe in same folder that you have the oembios files that can activate ur system. never ever use it alone without correct oembios files, then u will be prompted to activate at reboot. please read about slp1.0 activation before running my tools. feedback will be nice for others to read. xfilz
sounds good i will report back .i did run it the first time by itself . it did change the info and the key but i did not have it in a folder with the oem files.then i reread abit more and placed the exe in the folder with oem files and then re-ran the tool .we'll find out on reboot . i won't be rebooting for about 3 hours Doh! i do have the slp 1 dell info in the bios do i need to run it with the full oem files (9 files) or just the (4 files download.) i used the 4 file download from oembios.net cheers .
You only need the 4 files from oembios.net and OEMBIOS_restoration.exe, ive done it like this manually for a long time, it should work for you also xfilz
all is good i just rebooted ran oobe/msoobe /a says all is activated tryed to download directx tested for genuine passed thank you very much simple and easy utility cheers
cool, thank you for feedback, just like you were a bit worried before reboot i bet many others also was a bit scared trying it. nice to be able to help out, its so much easier than reinstalling or doing a repair install doing it this way saves u the work. cheers
Xfils just wanted to let ya no i had to use your utility a few more times i requested a different modded bios and used your program again to change from Dell oem to HP oem and finally Asus oem wow! . all went smooth .as long as i flashed my bios during the reboot to match the proper OEM files upon boot up the machine was always activated . cheers i also put my buddy onto your little program and he has since used it on 3 of his machines . all converted from VOL to OEM no problems P.S. i like that tune it plays also , i ended up downloading her album .
thank u so much pbgbottle, its very nice to hear ur feedback, coz it took me time to develope these tools for others, and its not just stolen work like many try to "impress" and take credit that others deserve, but you give me nice feedback, and im happy i shared my knowledge with you and u shared for others the "how to" in an easy way so others will benefit from ur experience. thank you pbgbottle
I just got my bios flashed with the Asus string (B20C65BF) (thanks to offon7544 for that ) Have downloaded the B20C65BF files from oembios.net and plan to run your utility soon. I was wondering, could you specify exactly what your tool does, so that in the future I might do a reverse. I mean: today VLK to OEM tomorrow OEM to VLK. Reason being, i'm a bootCD freak, and sometimes export my HDimage to other hardware/Virtual etc.(Yes, an image can be made hardware independent) Having a OEM isn't practical then for obvious reasons. I'm very impresed by what i have been reading so far, and thanks for spending time helping others
awsome i 'll take this aswell i have a legitimate VLK does this work in the same way ? create a folder copy the appropriate 4 VOL files or are they already built in to your utility , do i just run the utility .subsequently changing my key after .does it use any kind of VLK ? any info would be great . cheers PBGbottle
Hi there, happy to help you out, feedback appriciated. The VLK to OEM tool contains only pidgen and dpcdll. Thats why its smaller in size without the OEMBIOS files. No need to change key because its one valid OEM key. The OEM to VLK needs all OEMBIOS files to activate. Thats why its larger in size with the OEMBIOS files. Just change VOL key to the one you have from work. Be sure to keep in separate folders, to avoid errors. -OEMBIOS_supplement.exe in it own backup folder. -OEMBIOS_restoration.exe in its own OEM folder. -OEMBIOS-VLK_restore.exe in own VOL folder. This method just swapps the "corp. files" for you. Its not usefull to integrate on to an xp install cd. Then u just follow tutor in first post this thread, thats the way to preactivate the XP OEM system. If you like to add something cool to your install cd, try AntiWPA or maybe a nice tool called Tweak NT... xfilz
