    Aha, offcourse!
VLK to OEM I supply the OEMBIOS files myself.
OEM to VLK contains the OEMBIOS.BIN file which is pretty large.
    Understood.

I think i stumbled onto something interesting on a Chinese forum.
According to them (or what i could understand), the following files
need to be replaced on a VLK to make it OEM:
    Files from OEM:
    ACC_DIS.CH_
    ACCESSIB.CH_
    DPCDLL.DL_
    EULA.TXT
    IESUPP.CH_
    IEWEBHLP.CH_
    OEMBIOS.BI_
    OEMBIOS.CA_
    OEMBIOS.DA_
    OEMBIOS.SI_
    PIDGEN.DLL
    SETUPP.INI
    SUPP_ED.CH_

And for VLK to FPP (Full Packaged Product (Retail Version))
    Files from FPP:
    DPCDLL.DL_
    OEMBIOS.BI_
    OEMBIOS.CA_
    OEMBIOS.DA_
    OEMBIOS.SI_
    PIDGEN.DLL
    SETUPP.INI

In SETUPP.INI just change the 3 last numbers of the PID to OEM.
Keeping the rest of the numbers as is, ensures you identify the right language version.

VLK Conversion files By Magistr (EVC)

    e.B.O.L.A..v.I.R.U.S..c.R.E.W..2.o.o.1
    _-_-_-_-_ _-_-_-_-_ _-_-_-_ _-_-_-_

    i.s..p.r.o.u.d..t.o..p.r.e.s.e.n.t

WINDOWS XP FINAL 2600 PROFESSIONAL, HOME, OEM

    1) extract your ISO of Windows XP or copy entire Windows XP CD into a HD folder (enable hidden files view)
    2) go to folder \i386 of your installation and put here the corpfiles (overwriting the existing ones) as following:

    DPCDLL.DL_ substitute
EULA.TXT do not substitute! (ignore it)
NT5INF.CA_ do not substitute! (ignore it)
    OEMBIOS.BI_ substitute
OEMBIOS.CA_ do not substitute! (ignore it)
    OEMBIOS.DA_ substitute
    OEMBIOS.SI_ substitute
    PIDGEN.DLL substitute
    SETUPP.INI substitute
    SETUPREG.HIV substitute
WIN9XUPG\WIN95UPG.INF do not substitute! (ignore it)

After that copy the file WINNT.SIF into \i386 folder if you don't want to be asked for a serial number during installation.

It got half way through and said the serial number was incorrect:confused:

Checked against the HP one and it was fine. Bios is all HP'd up and the oem vlk xp was recreated from a 9-in-1 cd, so not sure what went wrong, any ideas?

    Thanks

    Hi guys,
I have been trying to activate xp on my computer for over a year now by reading different methods of oem activation but all in vain. I have got this slp string searcher(attached below) and did a slp string search it says i have "HP
PAVILION" and "HEWLETT" for xp and "HEWLETT-PACKARD" for server2003(i have posted the screen-shots of their output below) is present on my bios, i even got the appropriate bios files like 06D652A4 and CD4E1902 from oembios.net and tried restoring with the above provided tools yesterday but no luck. I even tried replacing bios files in i386 folder of xp by compressing them and doing a clean install but its not getting activated.I don't know what i am doing wrong.

    Please help me out guys.

any help will be greatly appreciate.

    Thanks.

I ran that too i downloaded the files specified by it. You can see my third screen shot down in the row in previous post. It is output of the oembios.exe.I even tried many different oem activation restoring tools but its not getting activated. But vista is getting activated when i try oem activation method without any hassle. Is there some thing problem with my bios??

Please check my screen-shot of oembios.exe and point me towards the right files and procedure.

    Thanks.
