    Can you put ISAPCI Tool on rapidshare or somewhere for me? want to have a look at it and I don't have access to vista fans to grab. thanks

    well its interesting...for the hell of it I suppose I took a look. Interesting. I've changed mine as well. Vista hangs on boot at crcdisk.sys indicating that there is a driver problem....its trying to install a driver that hangs the system. Stuffed around for a while seeing if there is an easy way of fixing this but couldn't find one...system boots into DOS without any issue at all...going to try a clean vista install for the hell of it and see what happens.

    New install frooze as well....seems like vista is trying to use something in the file ...strange oh well

    What happened to this method? Is this still possible with an add-on PCIE-E LAN NIC?

    It depends on the programming language and by that if it is legacy BIOS or UEFI (specifications)
    Zhaoliang has written it in 16 bit assembly.

    Legacy BIOS is written in assembly whereas most UEFI are written in C
    (UEFI also starts at the reset vector with 16 bit but 'soon' uses 32 bit flat address mode.)

    Short: With original legacy BIOS maybe, with any UEFI rather not.
