Actually, as we know from stylistics (http://uastudent.com/stylistics-theoretical-issues-of-stylistics/) the word itself is not necessarily offensive or rude or denigrating or an automatic praise (if a superlative is used) etc. etc.

It is the context that gives it meaning, weight, direction etc. A simple word can be stylistically "important" if put in a very different context from the one in which it is usually used...

Mine was a simple teaser for no above nasty purpose... And me being from the (democratic!) left - that was satire, actually...

Anyone with a bit of good will can see it! Even German Americans! & other anally retentive "jokers"...

 

Actually, rules are rules and we all need to abide by them, no matter ones point of view.
