I agree with you. Especially when knowing the MDL Ethos and spirit for which I stand! Absolutely nothing money related...seeing such fake sites is hurting me as well... Anyway fake sites would not persist without silly people. Maybe they feel better to have paid for it.
It is a known fact that Enterprise versions won't get any free upgrade or I am yet to see an upgrade notification for my Windows 8.1 Enterprise. But what I was wondering is, it is only the matter of time to find a leaked MAK for Windows 10 same like win 8 and win 8.1 that can be used for phone activation . I think the possibility of permanent activation is still there unless Microsoft implements and ensures some "fair usage" of MAK over the phone. But the thing is it becomes harder and harder to find a working MAK over a certain period of time. People needs to be quick to find and use it as soon as it floats around or else no other choices but to buy a genuine activation key or wait for an effective KMS tool. Anyway time will tell.
VL copies are not eligible for the WU upgrade that is all the rage these days, nor is Enterprise versions. They have to be done through the company they are licensed with..at least according to this in their disclaimer. "Some editions are excluded: Windows 7 Enterprise, Windows 8/8.1 Enterprise, and Windows RT/RT 8.1. Active Software Assurance customers in volume licensing have the benefit to upgrade to Windows 10 enterprise offerings outside of this offer." "
I would assume that with an OEM key you would have to input the COA key provided if you can't use recovery options & have to do a full installation.
There are no keys required and there are no keys being handed out. Microsoft saves your hardware ID to their servers and activate your installation if your hardware id is the same, this may require the use of the Microsoft Account which you have to create anyway unless you disconnect your lan cable as they removed the ability to create a local account in the OOBE with active connection.
That I guess is not quite right. It is highly probable that the contents of activation won't change. A serial installed on a particular device together with the hardware ID result to the installation ID which retrieves from the activation server a confirmation ID. M$ needs to release built in serials which will be tied to the hardwareID...in other words no installation ID without serial.
Well i meant in the literal sense, you don't get a key by mail or even shown in the gui or something, it's a behind the scene thing. Maybe we can grab whatever it does but even if we can it's likely just a onetime activation and that's it as clearly Microsoft will do some sort hardware id linking in W10 for upgraders so that reinstalling on the same hardware always activates.
dont be so happy , M$ isnt that dumb they probably will change how KMS activation works with the RTM build so yeah
I agree... the installation ID is just a hash - replace the key in that algo calculation with a MSA and you get a unique installation ID either way. Currently the install hive contains a starter key (even the pro index, may just be for testing at present, but they could possibly be using that as a generic for installation then use the MSA to generate the installation ID) ... that's what I'd do if I were them, anyway...
This is completely false. You can create a local account perfectly connected to WAN. There is nothing that makes you join a Windows local account with a Microsoft global account.
BUT you cannot use Cortana , Store and most of Windows 10 new apps if you are not using their Microsoft account
What about KMS activated 8.1 Pro's? Will they just give out a key to thoes, or will we have to relay on our current amount of days we have left on the KMS activation?
Just click Reserve when You see the message and see what'll happen I already reserved a Copy on a Loaded Win-7 OS on this PC, so I'm not brave enough to try
What about windows 7 activated using modded bios(inserted slic)? Will I get free windows 10 upgrade? Currently I don't even have "Get Windows 10" icon in tray System is up to date.
