sysprep /generalize prepares the machine for imaging and HAL independence yes it resets the rearm count, but it also does a lot more stuff than that. Like resetting your account SIDs, machine SID, and other things. If you want to rearm your install just use the slmgr.vbs -rearm command
Buy windows FTW. Buy it, that way theres no need to activate it with cracks, patches other serials e.t.c.....
It's a good point. On the other hand I understand peoples saying, I've bought legally a copy of Vista. M$ used me to be a beta tester. Now I don't spend any more money for W7. Vista should be that time what W7 is.
They used you to be a beta tester??? thats how they make products good because they ask people to test them first, this is why they released the RC e.t.c and too many people have gone overboard with wanting it. Testing is good this is how to make a product better. I love the new introductory prices. If I never worked in a college with just about all Microsoft licence agreements then I would buy it instantly and I won't have to fart about with other peoples patches, cracks, serials e.t.c. I don't pay for any MS product.
No I'm not talking about me. I'm talking about peoples saying, friends etc.... And they mean the whole time they are using Vista is just like a beta testing period, especially at Vista 64 bit, and the weak driver support at the beginning. Talking about me. My employer provides to me any license I need. So I don't need to pay for it.
I am using Windows 7 Ultimate Build 7600 (16384), if and when the final activator arrives would it require me to upgrade to 16385 (taking it as the final rtm), or will it be able to activate 16384 (i am just going to rearm it till then). Thanks.
Retail win7 for me by oct. 22 or thereafter; but for now i'm sticking with the legal path of rearm method.
in short no. You will need a RTM branch key which none are available because you need a license to get a key.

Whack ur heads =.=, many of u said, cracks(replacement of tokens and pkeyconfig) are useless and will screw up ur pc, this is NOT and NEVER TRUE! they wont pass WGA checks, i know, and no need to reinstall, how about we just BACKUP the tokens and pkeyconfig, and then apply crack, and when WGA is out, we will restore the normal ones dun be CuCkoos
AFAIK pre-ordering with the lower price is only available in certain countries (only US and UK so far?). The normal retail prices are only about 10% lower than they were with Vista (and again, this only in the US). My guess about the euro price: they will use the "fair" conversion rate of 1 USD = 1 EUR + another 10% (or even 20%) added During the Beta & RC phase I was actually thinking about buying W7, but thanks to the monopolist Microsoft and the spiteful and bureaucratic EU it's SLIC hacking time again..
Yes everithing here works like that even the hardware, a ex: mobo 100 US dollars = 100€ you are paying more than 130 US Dollars, I don't why. About Win 7 Edition Familial Premium E the price here is 49.99€ in France and they give it without IE and I like the crapy IE. I really want the whole copy.!!
