Another idea is to release marker and pubkey from the test.bin. Then flash the bios using /f. It should lose the SLIC. After it flash the test.bin (with pubkey and new marker. Without /f.
You can check yourself if it's updated. At rw-everything report the SLIC must change to DELL QA09

    release:
    CBROM32_195.exe test.bin /slpmarker release
    CBROM32_195.exe test.bin /slpkey release

What do you mean: "your windows licence is not valid!" ???? Maybe you've lost the SLIC using /F???? Can you explain a bit?
A rw-everything report is always useful.

yeah it said the windows licence was not valid.....I dunno I read that if you get the message about part number not matching your system then use the /F switch, I dunno, I couldn't even do anything at the screen unless I used that so I dunno.........I always got that improper part message, any ideas on that?!

ok I am going to try that after, so I first release and flash using /F, then flash again without using /F the test.bin?

When it said "windows licence was not valid"? At flash process?

The message comes from what? Vista?
Please post an new rw-everything report after each flash, to have a look what's changed... You are sure the SLIC wasn't updated using /F????

Yeah, we try to remove SLIC first. After a successful rw-everything report, we try to introduce it again using the test.bin, no /F I've uploaded (with new marker of course)....

ok just thought of something, I dunno might be trivial but who knows, does it matter if I am using xp? should I be using vista to do this since we are messing with the slic markers? I dunno, just a thought

No to check for it, it doesn't matter. How exactly do you flash?
Boot into pure DOS and use what command /switches to flash? I don't know why the marker wasn't updated.......maybe zort can give advice, too.
I'm still convinced there is a way to...

yup, dos, using the switches you and Urie advised me to

does this have something to do with the string size being inadequate to hold slic 2.1?

I also don't understand why it always gives me an invalid part # not matching the system and won't let me flash from there....

hmm, I noticed in the award tool that it says a checksum is invalid on 1.0.13.bin, that any help?
