caylor93 - No problem, hopefully it works.

Nothing I need right now...I just wanted to know if you were having any freezing issues with PowerNow mods for the 280's. The other guys seem to have freezes/lockups when the boards run anywhere from 20min to a few days.

FWIW, I don't have any here with my two PC's with HDAMB + 4GB of Corsair server memory + dual Opteron 280's (OSA280FAA6CB)...but I rarely leave it on for more than a day or two.

Ooo, awesome, I might try this then! I have been trying to compile/install Xen HyperVisor and it never EVER completes, so this sounds like a good idea.

I'll try that now and see how things run!

    Hello.
Just a quick update, after running the board successfully for a week I had to restart it a few times and it was up for over two days and .... freeze!
I have restarted it and I wonder how long will it last now till next freeze.
LJ - Are you still having freezes?

I just tried that acpi fix. So far so good, CPU intensive tasks aren't causing the server to keel over, although Core temp is up by about 10C but I'm taking that as a good sign!!

    Hi All
Sorry for the delay in replying to the thread.
With the latest bios from TQ the server was running the following morning it had frozen, BUT when I went to get it from the garage, I was suprised to see it on the floor hanging by the bmc ethernet cable. The server seems undamaged in fairness but the bmc port has suffered damage to the rj45 socket.
I have been out of town a few days but plan to get it running again in the next day or so.
So at this point I asume the freeze was the fall of a desk, but only time will tell.

Not had chance to repair/replace the bmc card yet but I have run the server up and all seems ok.
So I will move it back to the garage and start it up, this time more secure on the desk !!
    See how long it runs.

Thank you for your efforts! I have been looking for an ACPI fix to run Server 2003 or Windows 7. It would be great if I could get server 2008 running. I have 2 of these boards. Will these fixes allow for duel core processors as well as fix the ACPI problem?

I have downloaded the ACPI FACP fix for my boards that you have provided. I will glady give you feedback on the results after I flash the BIOS. Thank you again for your efforts.

    TQ,

Have you made a BIOS without the SI SATA RAID and just normal SATA for the "G" and 280's?

No I haven't but I could make one for you using the SI SATALink ROM from user pmf.

So you want an HDAMA-G 2.18B + SI SATALink + PowerNow for Opteron 280 (OSA280FAA6CB)?

Yes if you could. I was having problems with the SI RAID and Ubuntu booting. Tried everything I could think of to get it to work, but don't really need the RAID capability.

I was installing the hardware last night and haven't got to the point of trying to install. It is a box I am going to be using as a Splunk server, so it isn't a high priority right now. Hopefully will get to it no later than the end of the T-Giving weekend. Have time off then to work on it.

Thank you for being so informative and sharing the knowledge. I believe I have enough rope to possibly hang myself. I found this info from your TDP link:
I think that gives some hint as to what 275 processors to attempt with a HDAMA rev-E or prior. Again I thank you for all the wonderful information.

I can confirm that the 2.18b Bios will run on a rev e 290 motherboard. I received it from ebay with a 2.13 bios, picked up a second bios chip to be safe, and flashed the modded version to the new chip. It has been running fine under heavy load in freebsd for a few days at a time. I have started testing windows 2008 on it now. It has been up and running for a day under 100% load so far.

I am running dual 285's ( not sure if they are OSA285FAA6CB or OST285FAA6CB) and have seen no problems with them. I am interested in powernow support for these cpus if possible.

    Powernow output:
powernow-k8: Found 2 Dual Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 285 processors (4 cpu cores) (version 2.20.00)
