Thanks, That's cleared it up for me... I am running centOS 5, seems happy enough but would be good to update... I can't see a link on the first page for that combination though, only 275's on the HDAMA-I?
I reloaded windows 2008 on the server and had it run a burn-in test with no problems for a day of 100% cpu load. It has been having up and down load since then for a few test vms. Powernow is functional and the board is running fine. Thank you again tqhoang!
Glad to hear it's working for you. Please keep us posted if you've got a week or more of uptime since I still don't know what's causing the freezes/lockups while others seem to be ok.
250 SI SATALink bios please? Hi, Can I have a Opteron250 SATALink bios (HDAMA rev G). Hopefully will fix OpenIndiana (Solaris) not picking up my SATA drivers. Would do it myself but not sure how to insert a module into the ROMs? Can't see and obvious method in PhoenixTool. Thanks, Deano
Yes that will make Openindiana pick up the drives. That is way I did it. Just substitute the oprom module in the temp directory that the bios tool creates, make some change to a string and the tool will activate the build option. BR Peter
Peter - I think he was referring to AndyP's PhoenixTool. That might not re-link correctly if he replaced the ROM in the DUMP folder. Deano - I'll make a mod for you soon. Do you really want a PowerNow mod though?...lots of Opteron250 users have been having problems with that. What I could do is make both if you want, but I would like for you to at least test both.
Deano - I've updated the first post with HDAMA-G 2.18B + SATA-Link v5.5.0.0. Also I added a SATA-Link version for the Opteron250E4 PowerNow. Please test both if you can and provide feedback...I would really like to here if the PowerNow BIOS is stable for you.
I just received a server with the hdama- i board. The board reports Bios version 1.23 Re2 and seems to have powernow! (no errors in Dmseg ) capability with opteron 0sp270. Do you want this bios for your mods? if so how do I extract it from the board? I can connect a floppy disc if needed or pen drive. I do have linux on the computer so maybe there is an easy way to do it under linux? Hope I can help Maciek
Yes, I would be interested, but I have to run out now. I'll be back on later tonight with instructions.
tqhoang, I think I found the right method : Read the BIOS image into a file: $ flashrom -r backup.bin This should do the trick under linux (is said to also flash bios under runing linux system) - I will try this tonight and post the bin file. Maciek
Bios for HDAMA-I (without sata ports) version 1.23 RE2 I created a bootable USB drive and performed the /RO option. Attached is the Bios 1.23 RE2
Bios 1.23 RE2 more info I just noticed there is an option in the advanced settings to turn on/off POWERNOW.
PowerNow! working well in Fedora Linux I can confirm that PowerNow! is working correctly in Fedora. The processor is scaling between 1Ghz to 2Ghz without any issue.
Very nice. I've already patched the BIOS to be able to open it with the Phoenix BIOS Editor. Perhaps I just need to make updated RAID and SATALink versions for the HDAMA-I...that would be nice.
