Hi tqhoang The first bios which was the HDMAG218B_SI5500_DSDT_OPTERON280OSP_2400.ROM run ok under hard testing the only problem was the CPUs running a bit hot CPU1=52 CPU2=60 And i change the setting in the bois in the to CPU0,CPU1 link tx speed 1Ghz and CPU0 GOLEMO link tx speed 800MHz and also Enable the system power control utility in freenas and the system did not crash or lockup seem to be stable Now testing the HDMAG218B_SI5500_DSDT_OPTERON280OSP_2400-1800.ROM so far the CUP1 & CPU2 Temp are at 45 & 50 these cpu temps is only after 15 minutes of the testing so far after 30 minutes of testing this bios cause the system to lockup now testing HDMAG218B_SI5500_DSDT_OPTERON280OSP_2400-2000.ROM this cause the system to lockup after 25 minutes of testing now testing HDMAG218B_SI5500_DSDT_OPTERON280OSP_2400-2200.ROM this cause the system to lockup after 40 minutes of testing Very good work and thanks will test the rest of them and let you know to they perform Many Thanks Hitman936
Ok first of all "hello to you all" I have just purchased HDAMA rev.G and I have flashed the Bios to 2.18b. I have read through all the threads to try and solve the old problem of installing SBS 2008. I am having an issue with the system finding the drive on install. I noticed that there are some updated (MOD)bios however when I go to download them they have been removed. Can anyone send me the MODED bios or the updated driver for the SATA HD. ps my HD is 160gb and is made by MDT Thanks in advance
Hitman936 - Ok, well at least the 2400 MHz only mod worked ok. It should have essentially been the same as the stock BIOS without any p-states other than the max/default one. But perhaps this OSP line of Opterons does not switch voltages? One thing I can try is to give you a full range of frequencies but keep the voltage at 1.25V for all of the p-states. You might get a little power savings but some is probably better than none right?
Ok, I'll make you one BIOS that has all the p-states (2400-2200-2000-1800-1000) but keeps the voltage at 1.25V for all frequencies.
Ok Have tried the new bios (F_SIL55.BAT = v2.18 with update Silicon Image SIL3114 v5.5.0.0) and still wont see the sata drive in windows setup. It sees it be ok in the bios. Is there a driver out there that works with SBS 2008. Thanks
Hi JTerry If the drivers on that site does not one is to install to a IDE drive then clone to a sat drive using acronis sorry i can not help much on the matter i have not used SBS 2008. Thanks Hitman936
Hi tqhoang I can confirm that this Bois cause the system to lock-up soon as i Enable the system power control utility in Freenas if i turn off function off the CPU run hot again thanks for taking the time to mod these but these 280 do not seem to like to be change from default Many Thanks Hitman936
Bummer since the OSP Opterons are supposed to be cherry picked ones that can operate at low voltages. I'll keep digging on Google and see if I can find any example voltages...perhaps even the Linux computed ones were too high...
Hello, I have a couple of different setups that I need to find the new BIOS for. I have a couple of HDAMA-I boards, one with Opteron 244 CPUs and one with 280 CPUs. Hoping you can help me out. Thank you in advance.
tghoang your a good man. Downloaded the drivers from Microsofts site and now my server is installing. Thanks everyone for your help
