VLC. It's my favorite media player, for video also. It plays every format of media files, can be styled with different skins, doesn't phone 'home' (respects privacy) gets updates, can be used as streaming server, has advanced settings, is a small application, is simple to use even though it has advanced settings and there are many addons. It plays internet audio streams (internet radio url's) without timeouts. Sound quality is of course hardware (audio chip, speakers) / source file quality related. To all who have a special taste regarding music I suggest to have a look at music streaming url's. There are a huge amount of it and the chance to match your favorite music is great.
