Hi, to mod this bios I suggest to you this way: Use cbrom1.82!!! Here is the process: E:\Temp12>cbrom182 1502.BIN /minit extract cbrom182 V1.82 [04/11/07] (C)Phoenix Technologies 2001-2007 Enter an extract file Name (MEMINIT.BIN) [MINIT] ROM is extracted to MEMINIT.BIN E:\Temp12>cbrom182 1502.BIN /minit release cbrom182 V1.82 [04/11/07] (C)Phoenix Technologies 2001-2007 [MINIT] ROM is release E:\Temp12>cbrom182 1502.BIN /biosf6 extract cbrom182 V1.82 [04/11/07] (C)Phoenix Technologies 2001-2007 Enter an extract file Name (EZFLASH.EXE) [BIOSF6] ROM is extracted to EZFLASH.EXE E:\Temp12>cbrom182 1502.BIN /biosf6 release cbrom182 V1.82 [04/11/07] (C)Phoenix Technologies 2001-2007 [BIOSF6] ROM is release E:\Temp12>cbrom182 1502.BIN /gv3 extract cbrom182 V1.82 [04/11/07] (C)Phoenix Technologies 2001-2007 Enter an extract file Name (AGESACPU.ROM) [GV3] ROM is extracted to AGESACPU.ROM E:\Temp12>cbrom182 1502.BIN /gv3 release cbrom182 V1.82 [04/11/07] (C)Phoenix Technologies 2001-2007 [GV3] ROM is release E:\Temp12>cbrom182 1502.BIN /epa release cbrom182 V1.82 [04/11/07] (C)Phoenix Technologies 2001-2007 [EPA] ROM is release E:\Temp12>cbrom182 1502.BIN /gv3 AGESACPU.ROM cbrom182 V1.82 [04/11/07] (C)Phoenix Technologies 2001-2007 Adding AGESACPU.ROM .... 28.6% E:\Temp12>cbrom182 1502.BIN /biosf6 EZFLASH.EXE cbrom182 V1.82 [04/11/07] (C)Phoenix Technologies 2001-2007 Adding EZFLASH.EXE ...... 53.5% E:\Temp12>cbrom182 1502.BIN /minit MEMINIT.BIN cbrom182 V1.82 [04/11/07] (C)Phoenix Technologies 2001-2007 Adding MEMINIT.BIN 100.0% E:\Temp12>cbrom182 1502.BIN /slpkey bbpubkey.bin cbrom182 V1.82 [04/11/07] (C)Phoenix Technologies 2001-2007 Adding bbpubkey.bin 100.0% E:\Temp12>cbrom182 1502.BIN /slpmarker bbmarker.bin cbrom182 V1.82 [04/11/07] (C)Phoenix Technologies 2001-2007 Adding bbmarker.bin 100.0% E:\Temp12>cbrom182 1502.BIN /D cbrom182 V1.82 [04/11/07] (C)Phoenix Technologies 2001-2007 ******** 1502.BIN BIOS component ******** No. Item-Name Original-Size Compressed-Size Original-File-Name ================================================== ============================== 0. If somebody has tried it already, please don't forget to report. Anybody with a spare chip out there???
WOW they sure packed this bios, never seen one this full. Since pubkey mod did not work, there is SSV3 to try. There might still be hope for 1502.
It didn't work.....some more questions I need to know.....before I / we try for a new mod for 1502.... What exactly didn't work? Is there simply no SLIC shown at AcpiScope? Were you able to boot after you have flashed the mod? Are you sure the mod was really updated? (NO logo shown instead of yellow energy star logo at boot?) Could you please post the *.ats report, I cannot explain why it didn't work, but I'll have a look again. Maybe Asus prevented the SLP2.0 method at 1502 The downgrade switch is /F Get the original 1405 and check for possible issues. Try Awdflash 1405.bin /py /sn /f TIA for answering my questions
hey YEN...ASUS sent me a free BIO's chip for my M2N-SLI Deluxe..however, I really never pay attention to this board..and the chip is soldered...so if anyone who has this board and wants to work with YEN on this BIO's..then I have a new spare chip for you... **but unless you just have to have 1502...its best to just stay with 1203,1302 or 1405**
Soldered! Do they want to make us to be experts in soldering chips? They did it just to save money...this su**s! @Hannes Vienna It seems that you have tried to flash the black logo mod. Can you confirm that it was really updated. This is really important to know now. And don't forget the chip is soldered!!
na...i haven't messed with it (1502_Black)...I thought this board had a socket..but the chip is soldered and couldn't afford any downtime on this board if things went wrong...im looking to get a socket put on this board or deal with ASUS about exchanging with me..since this is a new board I'm not sure why ASUS is cramming the Bio's full...maybe they will release another update that won't be this way...I still think the 1502 is still in a beta stage mode.
Hey Yen! Sorry for my late answer - my cable modem was destroyed by a thunder storm. So i have flashed die hacked BIOS 1502 from your article# 2 on this thread. After the BIOS flash + CMOS Clear - the computer make befor the start from Winows Vista a Blue Screen and start again and again...... I the BIOS settings i could not select all all Points - for example BIOS EZ Flash and some overclocking functions. Yes i am sure the BIOS updated. Dear Yen have many THANKS for this information - it was easy! My BIOS Chip is soldered too At the moment i work with the old BIOS 1302 Best greetings ans thanks from Vienna! Hannes
Thank you for the info. So the black logo mod, didn't cause a bricked board, but doesn't work properly. Well, lets wait for a newer one 16XX and see....... The 1502 is not modifiable this time. (Too risky, cause chip is soldered.....)
lol...not all boards have soldered chips...ASUS did release some with sockets..but yeah..as I as mentioned...my feeling is 1502 is more beta than official....but there isn't a real reason to update unless your dealing with a new AMD Phenomenon CPU.
I using bios1405, perfect, I buy a phenon and wanna the bios 1502. bios 1502 working, a time i kill my mobo after flash a 1502, is this 3 Months ago. anyone bios 1502 working? sorry my english plz.
are you using the same commands as posted in the image? The ones you said BSOD'd...are they ones other tested?...seems odd but possible ASUS changed a call method.
Yes, exactly the same commands. I have not posted my mods here but I remember other people complaining about the BSOD issue too. So I suspect they too have the problem with detected (usable) memory.
