the first post is rewritten. 'couse nobody understand me and my idea. We should not wait anything to get ASUS 2.1 slic. It is already available on many notebooks on the market (with latest bios updates). The problem -we do not have proper tool to get it.
Yes, and that's exactly how it should be by MS' design on every brand computer. 1. Pubkey is property of OEM. and they may include it in BIOS update software. 2. Marker is property of MS. OEMs may and should install it only on machines with pre-installed Windows Vista/7/S2K8/R2. BIOS update software should leave this field in BIOS "as is". It's up to OEMs how to implement this directive, and there may be different ways, like leaving the place for marker or whole SLIC in BIOS updare empty, or creating private asset-tag software to switch SLIC table on/off. We are pretty lucky that OEMs pretty often don't fulfil those MS instructions.
anmg, i think you just have to wait until their are actually Asus PC shipped with Windows 7, until that moment nobody can know for sure how Asus implanted their SLIC mechanism. Windows 7 Upgrade program is not the same as OEM Windows 7, if i understand right you get a COA OEM (Upgrade?) Key to install W7 with those.
That's not right, we have the proper tools to get it, but therefore you need access to the Notebook. You don't find a complete ASUS_SLIC21 at a biosupdate........
If you advise any proper tool I will try to do something by phone and internet. (Notebook has my brother in another city).

And mybe stupid question, but did you start SLIC Dump toolkit as admin?
RW-Everything or SLIC Dump Toolkit 2.x should both work, unless your brother's Notebook does not have an activated SLIC (example, purchased without Windows Vista/W7, or purchased with linux or WinXP)
duh!, if it was that easy they wouldn't have disabled it in the first place. If it is locked/disabled you're probably out off luck, maybe someday a asset tag manipulation tool like the one for DELL will hit the internet
Any news on this? I'm currently trying to flash/upgrade a K50IN based notebook but it also doesn't show SLIC. For Lenovo there was a tool that changed the marker. So most likely we need a legit Windows 7 update disk for that machine in order to grab the tool.
