I am still here, I just have to wait for the notebook to be sent back to me... I did not have a USB floppy, in addition to not knowing about the recovery tool when I tried the last flash. One I get the notebook back I will continue with you. Sorry about the delay, hopefully I will better understand the recovery procedure next go around.
O.K. Now I know that the additional SLP parameter is responsible for that. Yes, I did a new mod already. But I'm trying to get a Compal SLIC and the matching certificate. Once I've got them it will be only a matter of time to activate your Laptop. Do you know anybody who has got it? The SLIC I'm trying to get from another compal bios, but the cert. If I don't find it I'll post the link to the new mod. CU Yen
I don't understand. Unfortainly Compal got no OEM deal with Microsoft, so i don't think there exists any Compal Cert/Key That sucks. Was it expensive to fix it?
I only had the notebook for 1day lol... Still under warranty That was why I PM so may questions about how people recovered on this pc with failed flash. I just with the recovery method was easier to understand and then I would have recovered on my own. I really want to help get this figured out since the IFL90 series is extremely popular all around the world. Anyway as soon as I get it back I will be helping once again.
Lol... I am used to forums where it is a big red box saying when i get a new PM. I had 5 PMs, and i didn't know About recovering on IFL90/90+/91, you'll have to insert a USB floppy in the "upper right" usb port. At least i had to. Then, with no battery, and the cable not plugged in, i inserted the floppy with the recovery software and bios inside it. I held FN+B while inserting the power cord. While still holding FN+B i pressed the power button. When the drive begins to read you can let FN+B go. Be away for half an houer, just to be sure it's done. Unplug power. Unplug floppy drive. Insert battery and boot as normal I've done this 4 times already Later I'll upload the recovery sofware for the floppy.
I know the feeling lol. The recovery floppy would be wonderful thanks much. I should have the notebook back in ~5days.
