Your screenshot says you have installed KB4552940 for dotNET v3.5. If that's all you have installed on your System in the way of dotNET versions, just run WU one more time and install KB4556399, it should go just fine. If you have some other dotNET version, you'll need another "patched" NDP as well before a successful run of KB4556399.

Hi. This last tool (dotNetFx4_ESU_Installer) is very useful, but is it possible to make an improved tool, that is, download all the NDP versions, put them in the same folder and have the script automatically install the appropriate version?

Or is it totally useless because we don't know what's going to happen in the future?

It's just a suggestion. Thank you

@abbodi1406 has already stated that the primary reason for this particular Forum is for ESU Bypass for the operating Systems only. I think they're being kind to allow the forum to overflow into non-OS functions like dotNET.

It's nice of the team to allow this but it'll get pretty wild in here if that continues. You can see how wild it got just for the ESUbypass of the OS (158 pages or so before dotNET showed up this month). Maybe a
Bypass dotNet v4.x Extended Security Updates Eligibility thread is in order...

= ndp48 only, all win 7 has 351 installed (if not chopped) and the update for that is KB4552940 (a failing KB4556399 install on WU would have installed it).

Yes I know, but this is mostly related to ESU. In the future who knows what can happen?

Makes me wonder: Why does M$ create such a mess almost on every Patch Tuesday?

My compliments to all members here who have helped us overcome M$ ME$$.

That's a very prophetic statement based on what's just happened with dotNET :D

Followed the directions to install version 6 by running LiveOS-Setup.cmd as administrator. When the screen finally came up, it only offered me options 3 and 9. I assume that it had done its thing and chose option 9.

Went to Windows update and it did not show any new updates. Downloaded KB4556836 and and KB4556399, and attempted to install them manually. KB4556836 installed successfully, but the download for KB4556399 was presented in multiple pieces. Only one piece KB4552940, and an update for the Defender Antivirus (v 1.315.613.0) were all I was able to successfully install.

I have tried to follow all of the instructions in this thread, but since January, I've only been able to install updates manually. What do I have to do to get back to WU?

Because a previous bypass already installed kb...069.
Install the ESU Lic. Prep. Update for WU to be able to offer and install the ESU updates.
Use this tool for WU to be able to install the dotnetfx rollup (KB4556399):
