@Enthousiast @abbodi1406 So what do I have to do now? Do I have to uninstall the test update KB4528069, and the others or just some? or nothing? Or do I have to remove the esu bypass, install the new kb and then install the esu and the test update? I'm sorry, I'm pretty confused now. Sorry for my bad English, I'm using the google translator pd: I already have those updates on my main pc with windows 7 ultimate, the problem is my other pc with windows 7 home basic x86 where I do not let myself install the test update or the rest, it says "not applicable to the computer". In that case I will have to reinstall my operating system?
Sorry to bother you but is there any news on experiments with Windows Vista? I've been reading through the previous posts and have expanded the test package of Server 2008 *R1* (KB4528081) on my VMWare virtual machine (x64 Vista Business, 6.0.6003). I haven't run any .mum files in the extracted package yet but it seems like Windows Vista is less likely to working with ESU Server 2008 *R1* updates according to OP's post, as they require ServerStandard SKU...
@g_m_1990 I believe test update KB4528081 (ESU manifest) cannot be installed on Vista, even if you tried the extracted mum files this is CBS restriction and not related to ESU mechanism
1. then you're fine and ready to go 2. wait for links to the ESU updates and install them 3. we'll see after jan. 14 2020, the last normal patch tuesday for 7
i think like it mension above we should wait after the last normal patch tuesday and then apply the patch.besides they developers are already working for the v4 of the patch.we'll have to wait and see how the extended program should work.
One question...I added the 0Patch micro-fixes already -- would you foresee any conflicts with what you are doing? . I'd just like to say a true thank you to whoever did this work. I am a small business owner with two computers -- one Windows Pro & and one Windows 10. There are two programs on Windows 7 Pro for which I am still searching for replacements in my work. I made lots of calls and pleaded with Microsoft/CSP's to sell us small self-employed people the ESU's (there are 42 million self employed people in this country!) but they just didn't care. The step by step instructions were clear -- and so far successful. We still have to keep fingers crossed as to whether permissions for updates will continue but if yes, while I won't need Windows Pro 7 ESU's for three years -- if it works I'm breathing a lot easier in trying to figure out what I'll do program wise.
No, you will not have conflicts. 0Patch will respect the official ESU update and revoke it's own patch for any vulnerability that Microsoft patches.
can someone help me with that please? sorry for being annoying but I want to leave my pcs ready for future updates. Thank you
Bedankt [/ QUOTE]
@abbodi1406 lijkt me geen nederlander, en we spreken hier engels No ESU update is released, only the test update is available at catalog..
@Enthousiast @abbodi1406 @mspaintmsi I just read that it is not possible in windows 7 home basic, now my problem makes more sense. So should I update the windows to professional so that the bypass works?
Reminder: tomorrow is the last "free" patch tuesday, which will not require the BypassESU and to avoid long Windows Update scan and slow updates installation, it is advised to remove BypassESU for now new version should be ready in few days anyway.
