Hey, a bit dumb question but is there a thread where people share ESU updates itself? I understand the situation with v4, but I dont even have access to updates, wanted to download them beforehand.

You can't access the updates without ESU license key (which is not free). Just wait for the patch to be released.

 

I'm aware of that which is why I ask where do people here get them? If it is an external resource I'd appreciate a PM with the link.

The patch only allows you to install them not download. It literally explains it in the OP and readme, read it. If you dont have updates then on its own it is useless.

 

There is no ESU available, the test ESU is still the only one, on catalog.

 

Its unlocked? Why?

 

It didn't work for me. Windows 7 replaced it with the official version of slc.dll when I did a check for updates.

EDIT: I was looking at the wrong slc.dll. I should be looking at the one in \servicing. Not the one in \system32. It was replaced as expected. I did a check for updates and didn't receive the test update. I thought v4 was supposed to allow receiving of updates via Windows Update.

 

i have people that using the home premium edition will be a workaround for that?
