Why installing the Feb. 2020 SSU instead of the Jan. 2020 SSU? In the past you recommended to NOT install it.
I didn't recommend not to install it, i said it will break the working of the bypass and now we found a method that allows to install all ESU stage updates.
That will leave possible vulnerabilities in your install unpatched. The ESU bypass enables you to update, why not use it?
Hello folks, is it possible to use ONLY security-only-updates with ESU? I want avoid using rollups/cumulative updates. I can't install test-update KB4528069, it fails every time.
If the ESU-check suppressing update (KB4528069) fails, the others will fail too, did you install the feb. ssu? You can check this official tutorial: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...pdates-eligibility.80606/page-71#post-1578167
yes it is possible. you can only install security-only-updates with KB4537767 if you use IE11 to avoid telemetry. Regarding KB4528069, it probably failed to install because of missing updates. Make sure that these 3 prerequisites updates are installed on your machine before installing the bypass : KB4490628 -> KB4474419 -> reboot -> kb4536952 if one of them is missing, download them from MS server. After that, install the bypass and this time KB4528069 should install successfully.
They do not include Telemetry in every month's patches, if they do it will be in BOTH the Monthly Rollup and the Security Only <<------! As they did in July 2019: Warning for group B Windows 7 users! The “July 9, 2019—KB4507456 (Security-only update)” is NOT “security-only” update. Disabling (or deleting) these schedule tasks after installation (before reboot) should be enough to turn off the appraiser \Microsoft\Windows\Application Experience\ProgramDataUpdater \Microsoft\Windows\Application Experience\Microsoft Compatibility Appraiser \Microsoft\Windows\Application Experience\AitAgent As you can see its a piece of cake to disable/delete this Telemetry.. Think About Windows 10... Before October 2016 individual patches could be skipped, whether because they included telemetry, or had a buggy effect on your individual system** They cannot be avoided in the Monthly Rollups. Security Only patches still have all security patches for that month. **Thats why.. There is also a Group W: Group W– doesn’t want anything from Microsoft — no patches, no security updates, nada. You can join them any time
Thanks for reply! All updates are installed..... I did that, i'm stuck with KB4528069, updating ends with "not installed".
what about the bypass ? have you installed it ? if it is not installed, KB4528069 will fail so the bypass has to be installed before insalling KB4528069.
Did you install the feb. ssu? then it will break the bypass function, remove it and follow the tutorial.
After KB4528069 successfully installed you should be able to remove the bypass and install whatever ESU update you want
Excellent work once again! Just one question: Did you really mean "Suppress" in this sentence? Or did you mean "Support"? If you really did mean "Suppress", can you please elaborate a bit on that?
This method suppress ESU check in other updates KB4528069 contain higner version of Microsoft-Windows-SLC-Component-ExtendedSecurityUpdatesAI by installing this manifest (using full KB4528069 or lite pack), it become the sxs winner when you install Februay updates, they contain lower version of the component, thus it's superseded (suppressed) and not checked at all
Aah, thanks, it's clear now! Thank you to you both! The new "Lite" update is once again a nice little piece of art! And still completely transparent, very nice!
