I know it does not relate to Vista, but I hope Andy can notice it here more than other forums

    [SLP STRINGS]
    F000,E049,6,HPQOEM

Is it possible with Andy's tools (AMI and/or Award) to specify insertion of HPQOEM in this location?

Yes you can, just make a .txt file and put your string in, save the file inside the SLP folder.

No, But maybe I can if the address is open..The AMI tool inserts the SLP in the $ODB$ area of the bios. It correlates to FE840h

The AWARD is in the FE000h-FE100h Area (Roughly).

You need FE049h exactly. Could be possible in award..AMI is tough...

If the Phoenix can be rebuild with PBE 2213 then it is easy with a little HEX edit, do not know about AMI...

NOT that I need it desperately at the moment, just wanted to know really

    Thanks

Award cannot be touched with PBE. Only phoenix. Award needs CBROM. AMI is the easiest.

    AMI--MMtool/Hex editor

    Award--CBROM/Hex editor

    Phoenix--Many tools/hex editor

Yeah and the Amibios string at 1b module correlates to FF400h, offset 1E000h at mainbiosmodule Award correlates to FE000h
