Remember, Windows 10 comes in "Pro" and "Enterprise" flavors. Please show me some proof that "Professional" and "Enterprise" users are happy with any of the new stuff in Windows 10. Give us Windows 7.5 Pro and Enterprise, and then maybe a "Windows 10tertainment" version...
Sorry, but that's not an option for companies, I'm afraid. Luckily, a lot of the stuff can (still) be disabled and turned off. The "under the hood" stuff isn't bad, though... New hardware support is always nice (and important).
The best comment i can say, this is NOT Windows 7 6.1.7601 sorry. There are however are 3rd party apps but nothing can ever replace 10 Menu <3 its beautiful
OK, thanks, you convinced me. Windows 10 is great. Companies will love it and replace all their Windows 7 systems. Come to think of it, now I remember that they (big companies) actually wanted it this way all along: First spend money on training their employees to work with the Windows 7 start menu, then tell them it's gone in 8, then back in 8.1, but not really, then it will really be back in 10. But again, not really. A lot of fun for tech support, who have nothing better to do anyway, and work for free.
Sure eventually they will, the problem with MS is they leave their OS's in operation for to long so people don't want to move onto something better its not actually about style.
If you don't need Windows 10's great new features, I'm wondering what are you doing in this forum then? Windows 10 is beautiful.
I just use True Launch Bar, build what menu-like interface I want for launching apps, then move on with my life.
You can't make everyone happy. The funny thing is that there are not even any real arguments anymore. If you don't need new (and in many cases useful for many people) features, then just don't use them. They are not in your face as they were in Win 8, they are just there. Amazing how some of you are getting mad and harassing other users who like Windows 10 and its new features. I would expect most users in here to be grownups who are able to discuss their issues in a respectable manner but what I see here is the clear opposite.
that's good for you but the old start menu did more than just open a number of predefined shortcuts so for some people there might be a reason to complain even if you don't get it
Well I know it's pretty pointless to keep on discussing this, but I sure hope you're not talking to me. I'm not the one who started calling other MDL users "whiners", and I did use arguments (training costs, tech support costs, and believe me, I know what I'm talking about). I'm sure in real life, if we had a face to face discussion, we could talk about this sensibly, I'm sure you would never start calling me names, nobody has ever done that to me, why would they, I'm a reasonable (and big) guy...
I had to moderate here a bit. You all can discuss here controversially, but I do not tolerate insults and an unfriendly tone. Atari800XL is completely right not to tolerate to get called to be a 'whiner'. The issue is on top at M$'es feedback list for some valid reasons. This warning applies especially to WardocsRevenge.
I realy like how the start menu is developing @ the moment !! I have bought start8 in the past and not using it any more because I like the new start menu better. The only thing they might have to change is all apps. It is to much spread out and not easy to find your programs like that. I would say get the letters of the alphabet out of there
It is no question, windows users have to deal with a new start menu, sooner or later. And it is the purpose of a new development to change things to the better. M$ cannot realize it that anybody will be satisfied. Anyway IMHO they enforce the focus on apps while the corporate user is ignored, I share this opinion. There are people who have to work productively with the OS and have not the time to play around. M$ should consider this as well.
