Really..... I think it works great. I run my office from my PC and I like Windows 10....100% better the Windows 8 or 8.1 Windows 7 sucks.
Great. Welcome to DOS from 1990. Want to run a program? You have to type the name of the program you want to run. Why don't we just go back to running everything from the command line. When you have to search for the program you want to run because it's impossible to organize the Start Menu in a meaningful and useful way, that is a MASSIVE FAIL.
Great idea At least from the (JPSoft TakeCommand) command line, I can use shortcuts (aliases), eg. "q" starts my console text editor. It doesn't get any easier than that... (No, let's not discuss how The Semware Editor is still the best programmable text editor in the world). OK, I admit I'm close to trolling now... Sorry 'bout that, I'll stop immediately. Back to discussing the start menu.
s**tty start menu, pffffff m$oft will never learn, and the sound slide, who's the idiot(s) thinked left right was better that way ??? every iteration of windows are less and less functional
wow, good point that's the same excuse politicians use 'this is a democracy and you voted, so it's not our fault' i bet that's the real reason they came up with this insider feedback stuff
You have a right to your opinion. But complaining about such little, in my opinion unimportant, details is why so many people call us metro/start screen/windows 10 critics whiners that live in the past. I'd happily relearn everything from UP/DOWN to LEFT/RIGHT if I didn't have to live with less functionality/efficiency.
that is my user name....thats what u are not understanding....and what does the start menu deal has to do with this?
i really don't want to make this about your problem first you did not replace {user} with your username and after you fixed that you still had problems because of the space in the path this was just to show that your expectations of a start menu obviously differ from mine and therefore the new start menu might be fine for you but it isn't for me and others that have higher expectations i hope you can accept that answer because i really don't want to explain it again in a less polite way
I stripped searchui.exe of all permissions and now the start menu doesn't run at all it's an improvement, no longer do games lose focus and minimize
do u see any space their? C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_cw5n1h2txyewy\LocalState\Assets
The Start Menu in 10074 is buggy as hell on VMWare, crashes every now and then. BUT, I think MS is onto something, IF they add the option to replace the tile groups with columns of programs (small icons and titles next to it), for non touch users. Yeah, I'm delusional... W7 made me stop using the Start Menu anyway, Task bar is enough for me most of the time.
There can't be a space anymore since I fixed the bug that created an unwanted space when a long string has been posted. This bug lasted for 7 years. Guys no need for a fight...a little mistake is no reason to blame the one to be generally unable...
