You'll need to take ownership of the file within the windows/system32 folder and go to the services control panel and disable the hyper v server (switching them off doesn't work).

Restart and you should be able to replace the file.

I'm running an install now. Fingers crossed!

Any idea where to get the Dell specific files for Windows Small Business Server 2003 R2, for testing?

Go to oembios.net or just take the OEMBIOS.BIN,CAT,DAT and SIG files from a Dell OEM cd and run the oemscan.exe program. Google OEMScan and you should find the link to it on the msfn.org forums.

OEMScan will scan the BIOS for the SLIC table and replace the files in the windows directory with the proper OEMBIOS files and will activate your Windows 5 kernel as long as the SLIC and OEMBIOS files match.

Why try to mod hyper-v bios with builtin "MSFT-OEM" slic ACPI table and not figure out how to make an OEM Certificate (XRM-MS file) for that signature? The Product key is OEM independent though (Dell, hp msft etc).
Every time you upgrade/patch the OS/H-v you need to mod vmwp bios resource.

    Any ideas?
