If you upload the original vmwp.exe again I'll patch it and will upload it to sendspace which is far better.

    Thanks Yen,
    Your timing was perfect. :)
I'd just finished installing R2 on some real hardware, when I noticed your post.
And I can confirm that the Dell SLIC works with Vista. :D

I'll test the Dell and HP SLP1's over the weekend. ;)

    Yen,

why have you changed OEM0 table in VMWP for Win2008 R2 Hyper-V?
    Is that resonable?

No, not really.;). I thought it may not harm. I've heard of a Asus AMI bios which uses a OEMX table to activate instead of a SLIC.....

Can someone help me a little, i have tried to mod the latest hyper-v release for win2008 std x64 , i have just used yen's release mod1b, but i would like to set in acer slic , i have followed yen's tut. with winhex.
I put 00 00 00 00 in the checksum dword and then used sum32 to calculate the new checksum which i then input, after sum32 says 0x00000000, i also change the rsdt and xsdt oemid to the same as slic is. But when i save the new vmwp and try it on my hyper-v server im getting no heartbeat from the vm's.
Im i missing something ? any help greatly appreciated.

I guess they have updated the bios inside as well, so you need to do a complete new mod. Please upload the exe to mod..

    Hi Yen,

You might as well wait a few days, till the SVR2008 R2 RTM files are available. I know that I, and probably aload of the other SVR2008 users will be bugging you for a R2 version. :D

Theres not much point hacking the same files twice in the same week. ;)

Hi Yen, i tried to mod the version which you had already inserted dell slic into, i dont think there is any new version around, here is the version number vmwp-6.0.6002.18005.

    Thank you.
