I wonder who are the Germans and who are the Balkans?

@sid_16: Galileo was burnt on a stick for believing the earth was round. Should I get burned for believing in angels and "supernatural"?.

Ignorance is not bliss, but trouble.

    I don't ignore science, I moved on.

I told you before, I'll tell you again: we are not humans having a spiritual experience, but light-beings having a human experience. Earth is the only place in the Universe one can experience ALL EMOTIONS. The best school in the Universe. And class is not dismissed. Not yet. ;)

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH, you wanna get off sooooo lightly?!? Nahhhhhhhhh, we shall get you a better, longer and even eternal suffering, if we possibly can... Since your ideological (religiously speaking :D) kin imposed such punishment on Philosophers, over the ages, as a regular feature of "Look what happens to non-believers!!!!", while teaching the "great unwashed" what comes next for them if they dare to be critically minded and pursue the truth, wherever it may lead them, soooooo - go figure...

Galileo's theory is proven to be true but you're going with a magical feeling or abstract thinking of those stuff with no testable hypothesis and no evidence to back your claim. Set up a falsifiable experiment and we may have something to talk about. As it stands, your absurd thought and argument is nothing more than “That’s the way I feel therefore I believe it is true.”

Interesting, do you consider yourself knowledgeable or ignorant at the moment?

no comment for the rest ..........

@sid_16: in Galileo's time - he was wrong because he didn't follow the flock. ;)
Right now, me and Yen are in the same position.
Always, always the pseudo-science aka the mainstream-science, you and gorski embrace so dearly, was WRONG 100% and still is even today. ;)

Take medicine: at the beginning of the 20th century stupid doctors treated any disease with arsenic killing the patients while "quacks" cured them with plants. Even now 'modern medicine" has no cure for cancer but there are a lot of "quacks" out there that can: Gerson, Mosley and many others.
Take chemistry: without alchemy, chemistry will still stir water and salt waiting to turn to gold.
Take physics: Newton, that you hold so dearly, was just an impostor, copying the works of Euclid (ever heard of sacred geometry? To "modern scientists" like you, this must seem hilarious).
Take physiology: Da Vinci (was also learning this from the works of Imothep - one of the first real doctors) proved the existence of circulatory system and it was dismissed by main stream doctors at the time.

Need I say more? Your science just announced proudly the discovery of the "God particle"...which made me laugh so hardly. In 5 years time, they will come and say: "We were wrong, sorry about that." There is no such thing as a God particle...beside GOD. ;)

Before criticizing, please open your hearts and your minds and ask yourselves: "is this s**t really true or it's just another brain-washed scientist that wants to cover himself with fame and glory"?
Regardless of the subject. Until now you failed to give your sincere opinion on the subject, but you were throwing at us what said this "expert" or that "expert".
If a sheep goes into the river and drowns and 100 sheep follow it and die, does this mean that the first sheep was right, does it?

I expect scientific arguments only. :D:D:D

P.S. Red lights a very inspirational movie.

Yep, crawl back into the darkness of your false security... o_O

    Typical "scientist" mind: doesn't fit his/her ideas...it's not worth investigating...yep. Poor science...what a waste.

    Me too.:worthy:
I wouldn’t getting any younger, and I would like to prefer to spend my time discussing reality, not making up B.S just to see my words on a screen. This discussion may be mildly entertaining around a campfire at 2 a.m. in a chilly nights , being cuddled around warmer thighs, halfway through the second bottle of vodka, but discussing the nature of medical or medicinal herbs/pills here is every bit as pointless as debating what happened before the Big Bang or what is the north of the north pole. We do not know, and nothing we discuss here will get us any closer to understanding the subject.

No, you forgot to add their 'magical thinking' is the tool and they are justified in making up stuff to fill the gaps in their knowledge.:D

Because all thoughts are past, hence defined. And I have to disagree with it. Creativity is there where are no thoughts. You just have not the awareness to observe it...
This is not a matter of cleverness, it's a matter of a experienced condition.
The problem is, you cannot imagine the state without thoughts, you need to experience it.

I have not said that creativity happens in a vakuum. I have said it happens there where are no thoughts.

And how can you know about a state you have not experienced (yet)? Or you have but your mind later has defined it to be absurd to justify its existence?

"we are between animals and "God". God is his/her thoughts, a unity..."
memorized or experienced? I bet 'learned' from a Philosopher.:D

Contra: My experience: My Self = god = I am, separation (individualisation) is caused by the mind / thoughts.
When there are no thoughts one devotes one-Self to that what IS (god) and experiences present existence, which means coming home to god = to experience god not to be different as one's Self. We are not future, future does not exist, we are now. :)

I don't know it better, I am. You cannot have an opinion about IT. Philosophy and science is useless here.
You can say I am mad, wrong, animal, child....it are your ideas of something, which don't apply to my-self.

And there are 'others' experiencing the same. You can determine now this phenonemon with your learned established terms and laugh about and feel 'superior'...but it is ever your ego protecting its existence....cheers to your ego :bye1:
Suggestion: mass-psychosis, or merciless hubris, are you (your ego) satisfied with the terms? That what one really is is unassailable, and it's not the ego. So lol about.:)

You are right from your POV.
But look, there is something that makes me not comply with the topic (Descartes). That is a fact. And I have explained what it all is.

'To me it is wrong what he's said'. This is a relative truth and hence the errors you see in it don't exist in me.
To you it is right what he's said. This is your relative truth.
And the fact that gorsky has studied the matter does a relative truth not make a absolute.
Everything that can be told is never 'the' truth.

There are Philosophers which said Descartes had been wrong. To others he is right.
Gorsky tries to sell his view to be absolute right, but that is his ego he simply cannot put asside.

To me Descartes is wrong, to others he's right. And if one thinks one can be more right about then he is wrong.

It's like to convince one who doesn't like coffee that coffee tastes good. Both have their own truth about the taste of coffee...the intention to want to have a relative truth more worth than another's relative truth should be obsolete by a Philosopher. Statistics doesn't give more truth, the truth is relative that's their attribute!

And that is the reason why truth cannot be communicated.

Wittgenstein: In the world is everything as it is and it happens as it happens. In her there is no value-and would there be one then it would be without value.

Philosophy has no absolute value, gorski. Science also. Truth is already in us.... hence I don't care...this here is a funny mind game and I forever :hug2:.....I apply science where it has a meaning, so you do with Philosophy, nothing wrong about....

A state without thoughts is death, the very act of trying to have no thoughts is in itself a thought.

Jeezus, Yen, you're worse than my wife, when it comes to ignoring what doesn't fit into her presumptions.:biggrin::D

Thoughts can be new, novel thoughts, never before thought by anyone, hence they are (sometimes) future or nothing we see around and inside us could have become... (It' s like language, with definitive number of elements but infinite number of combinations.)

It all had to start somewhere, all our products, our world, and hell, it starts in thoughts - see Tesla, for instance. What do you think he did when he was coming up with them - meditating, as in clearing up his mind of any thoughts and just "being"?!? A creative process based on lots of studying (past) but then coming up with elaborate new thoughts (future), which did not happen before him.

    In his own words:

    Think again...

Absolute nonsense.:bye1: In every respect! Only a true "innocent" in all things philosophical could write all that.:) But, as before, (I am now sure) you will continue with whatever comes to mind, regardless of the baselessness of it all...
