Oh f**k. All hell just broke loose... Tried updating - failed. Tried recovery, success at last - or so it seemed. The screen is black, but it appears to boot. External screen does not work either. Not even emergency-flashing it back to the original BIOS works. Any ideas?
After flashing a couple of times more I've got image, but nothing happens after "phoenix" is shown on the screen. If I press "F2" it says "Please wait", but nothing happens. Any ideas?
@ haXXa, have you tried clearing your cmos have you tried the pheonix recovery methods posted on sticky?
With a dead PC, how would I be able to flash the BIOS without using the recovery method? Yes, I tried it... When I do it I wait for, say, 20mins - then I reboot, as nothing seems to happen. Then I get presented the standard phoenix bootscreen, but it won't move on. If I press F2 for entring BIOS, it tells me to wait, but honestly - when nothing happens after 9 hours i consider it malfunctioning... How would I clear the CMOS? On a stationary computer I'd do it by removing the clock battery, but that's quite hard in this case.
It sure is. You're the man, Yen I appreaciate you doing the magic you do, without payment or anything (even tho' I disregard piracy for money ) Do you think the SLIC table looks okay? And the Lenovo key is banned, so I'll have to wait for a new one, right?
Hi all, i have the compal VBI version EL80 which seems to be a similar NB but older and VBI, should i use the flash methods posted here or the normal bios flash method?
i have an zepto znote 3215w notebook with an IFL91 Mainboard, is it true that i can flash an IFL90 bios on an IFL91 mainboard? wich download link schould i use, ther are manny different bios files in this thread and i dont want to brick my notebook thanks in advance!
Thanks YEN. I'm using IFT01 and previously succeded flash the SLIC 2.0 with USB Key then using floppy recovery method. The second one, I also succeded flash the SLIC 2.1 with only using USB Key (no need floppy recovery). BTW, is there any tutorial to modify the COMPAL bioses myself?
Does anyone still have the crisis flash tool? All the previous links did not work. both bizcom and comapl's site aren't working. PS: That bootable cd didnt work.
