What's far worse is that people do not know the difference of (pointless) assumption and evidence.

They do have general allegations against groups of people or entire nations or simply 'things' and try to create hate against the group or try to stir others up against those groups.
By doing that they 'feel' united with others doing the same and what ties them together is to have the same enemy image which they can fight together.

This has no place here. I accept any personal opinion and belief about something. (Also if one believes that corona comes from a lab).

But I do not offer a platform for those who create hate, want to stir others up and want to fight an illusionary enemy.........there's whatsapp, facebook and instagram, but not MDL.

Have a look at England how far it can go.....where such idiots have burnt 5G transmitters....because they believe 5G emissions support corona infections...

I am starting to realize what I have posted being a moderator:
    Please back to topic coronavirus.

Edit: (We can get back to the topic 'origin' if there is new knowledge about. Since then personal belief from where it comes has been posted already and does not need repetitions).

Since I am interested myself about the origin I researched a bit further and found this:
    https://www.sciencemag.org/news/202...-not-be-source-novel-virus-spreading-globally

The mentioned 'The Lancet' article "Clinical features of patients infected with 2019 novel coronavirus in Wuhan, China" (The Lancet is a scientific journal with a good reputation) I have (d/l) also (Have access to scientific journals myself).

From those 41 early cases 13 have no link to the food market. The paper describes detailed those 41 cases...for instance here:

It can be possible that the Wuhan food market is not the primary source of COVID-19 pandemia.

But anything further would be speculations (ATM)....
Staying curious and sceptical against the Chinese info about the origin of COVOD-19 is not the problem...I do the same.

But no (conspiracy) theories without evidence..

Please correct if I am wrong Yen, but if it is not a theory without evidence..., then it would be called a fact...no.
Theories are just that.... ideas that are not proven with known facts, in a scientific kinda way?
There is no known "facts" as to where this Sars/Covid2 virus originated from.
There are some ideas coming from a government with a questionable reputation for real "facts"

Well, science makes a distinction between "theory" and "scientific theory".
Scientific theory => Theory of General Relativity
Conspiranoid theory => Rothschild and Co. are pulling strings (lol)

Amoeba Sisters make a dissertation quite a bit profound (they include meaning of "law" too) :tooth:

    Yes you are right Joe.
I should have posted conspiracy assumptions.

A conspiracy theory remains a theory, yes.

I tried to follow COVID-19 its way back as far as possible. And I found that 13 of 41 early cases have no link to the food market. These findings do not reason conspiracy, but might exclude the food market as primary source alone.

I want to keep this a serious discussion and it's not easy- It should not become a platform to create a political enemy image (where a political own ideology is involved).

Anyway to stay sceptical about how they handle the research of COVID-19 origin is reasonable.
And other nations should make them (enforce) to present valid results and for clarification.

Indeed, those Lancet paper authors (and others) know too much to be claiming anything definitively. Good scientists rarely do that!

What we do know is that there are open questions to which we have no definitive answers and hence caution and further research is needed!

That, on the other hand, is not for the impatient, spiritually lazy, uneducated, scientifically ill-disciplined minds or simply those looking for self-promotion and quick buck, hence the conspiracy theories everywhere...

We need to understand, however, that whatever I put up in my first two posts, does leave a very rich, fertile soil for such "thinkers"... Early day vaccines were a crime against Humanity, if you ask me, the way that work was conducted in a callous, sociopathic manner, with complete disregard to anything we now know is needed, when doing such research, never mind what the military has done. Corporations are just as dangerous, as we now know for sure!

Nowadays, at least in some democratically leaning societies, we have declassified documents showing us that serious "conspiracies" are at the heart of our govs, never mind the authoritarian (or worse) ones, hence no wonder these "conspiracy guys" are at it 24/7/365...

Looking back at corona viruses you also find works prior to COVID-19 (actually since SARS)

Washingtonpost article to COVID-19 origin: https://www.washingtonpost.com/opin...75d488-7521-11ea-87da-77a8136c1a6d_story.html

I also did research about the Indian 'scientists' which seemingly should have found 4 specific insertions of HIV..
The work has not been reviewed by other workgroups, but published anyway.
And the researcher are no virologists.

You should know that at DNA research 'something in common' does not mean it originates from..or has been taken from....the found inserts are also found elsewhere (not HIV alone).
It was a database hit (pBLAST sequence alignment tool)..

All your references of this Covid19 virus show a relation of around 98% or so with relation with the bat/mammal genome, but that difference is about as wide as the genome differences between humans and primates.

    Yes.
I know that it very depends which region has most of concordance. The 'overall' matches are not that important. And a virus is no living organism such as humans...

AFAIK COVID-19 is a RNA molecule of ~30000 bases containing 15 genes..human DNA our genome is a double helix of DNA ~3 billion bases in size and contains about 30,000 genes!

I am no genome expert.... but I know there is a region which is considered to be important at corona viruses the so called S gene. There is one found which matches 99% of COVID-19...

I'd rather have a single properly progressive media as a source, seriously delving into the issues/interests, than any of those bozos piled up together....
