I am afraid COVID-19 is only then 'over' if one either is infected and hence cured..or vaccinated. One month ago I still bought concert tickets for August..still thinking until then it'll be 'over'....today anything is cancelled. No folk festival, no street festival, no public events, no public open air pools, no beer-garden, no travelling, no holidays in foreign countries... nothing this year.... I think COVID-19 becomes more and more a psychological and social issue...
My brother and I had an interesting discussion this afternoon. As of today, the total number of deaths in the U.S. due to the Coronavirus epidemic is 49,648 people. Within the next 5 weeks, or by the end of May, there is a very good chance it will exceed 58,318 people. Why did I pick that number? Because it's the total number of U.S. casualties during the Vietnam War. Staggering to think that we'll probably lose more people in just the first 5 months of 2020 due to Coronavirus than in 10 years of war in Vietnam. And just what are the current protestors upset about? It's not really about the deaths of thousands of their fellow citizens, it's more about the fact that they're tired of being cooped up at home for more than three weeks. How people's principles have changed in just 50 years.
MJ, some govs (Singapore, NZ, Ozzies, Germans, Austrians etc.) are better prepared and equipped to fight it off with less lives lost... And look at ours, its proper image, not the one they imagine they portray... "Coronavirus UK guidelines. 1. You MUST NOT leave the house for any reason, but if you have a reason, you can leave the house 2. Masks are useless at protecting you against the virus, but you may have to wear one because it can save lives, but they may not work, but they may be mandatory, but maybe not 3. Shops are closed, except those shops that are open 4. You must not go to work but you can get another job and go to work 5. You should not go to the Drs or to the hospital unless you have to go there, unless you are too poorly to go there 6. This virus can kill people, but don’t be scared of it. It can only kill those people who are vulnerable or those people who are not vulnerable people. It’s possible to contain and control it, sometimes, except that sometimes it actually leads to a global disaster 7. Gloves won't help, but they can still help so wear them sometimes or not 8. STAY HOME, but it's important to go out 9. There is no shortage of groceries in the supermarkets, but there are many things missing. Sometimes you won’t need loo rolls but you should buy some just in case you need some 10. The virus has no effect on children except those children it effects 11. Animals are not affected, but there is still a cat that tested positive in Belgium in February when no one had been tested, plus a few tigers here and there… 12. Stay 2 metres away from tigers (see point 11) 13. You will have many symptoms if your get the virus, but you can also get symptoms without getting the virus, get the virus without having any symptoms or be contagious without having symptoms, or be non contagious with symptoms... 14. To help protect yourself you should eat well and exercise, but eat whatever you have on hand as it's better not to go out shopping 15. It's important to get fresh air but don't go to parks but go for a walk. But don’t sit down, except if you are old, but not for too long or if you are pregnant or if you’re not old or pregnant but need to sit down. If you do sit down don’t eat your picnic 16. Don’t visit old people but you have to take care of the old people and bring them food and medication 17. If you are sick, you can go out when you are better but anyone else in your household can’t go out when you are better unless they need to go out 18. You can get restaurant food delivered to the house. These deliveries are safe. But groceries you bring back to your house have to be decontaminated outside for 3 hours including Pizza... 19. You can't see your older mother or grandmother, but they can take a taxi and meet an older taxi driver 20. You are safe if you maintain the safe social distance when out but you can’t go out with friends or strangers at the safe social distance 21. The virus remains active on different surfaces for two hours ... or four hours... six hours... I mean days, not hours... But it needs a damp environment. Or a cold environment that is warm and dry... in the air, as long as the air is not plastic 22. Schools are closed so you need to home educate your children, unless you can send them to school because you’re not at home. If you are at home you can home educate your children using various portals and virtual class rooms, unless you have poor internet, or more than one child and only one computer, or you are working from home. Baking cakes can be considered maths, science or art. If you are home educating you can include household chores within their education. If you are home educating you can start drinking at 10am 23. If you are not home educating children you can also start drinking at 10am 24. The number of corona related deaths will be announced daily but we don't know how many people are infected as they are only testing those who are almost dead to find out if that's what they will die of… the people who die of corona who aren’t counted won’t be counted 25. You should stay in locked down until the virus stops infecting people but it will only stop infecting people if we all get infected so it’s important we get infected and some don’t get infected 26. You can join your neighbours for a street party and turn your music up for an outside disco and your neighbours won’t call the police. People in another street are allowed to call the police about your music 27. No business will go down due to Coronavirus except those businesses that will go down due to Coronavirus "We're British. We have no idea what we're doing. But we're muddling through..." once told to me by a head of high school, where I was about to do my "observations" as an MA student, re. the "citizenship" programme I was about to "observe" or a complete lack thereof, on a general level... How appropriate!
Hmmm, censorship DOES happen here, it's not exactly principled and needlessly so... Hypocritical, if anything....
With nearly 15% of false negatives, tracking this virus has literally become a joke. https://www.npr.org/sections/health...bout-false-negatives-from-quick-covid-19-test Testing for Covid19 antibodies to see if you have had Covid19 is guesswork too because those test do not differentiate between any other corona viruses you may have had in the past. https://www.fda.gov/medical-devices...y-tests-covid-19-letter-health-care-providers Michigan turned out so badly because that false negative tests are even higher,.... https://www.wxyz.com/news/coronavir...reases-experts-warn-of-false-negative-results If we can not get testing right how can the possibility of a vaccine or cure be done?
I wonder how far the Coronavirus travels on a breezy day when one sneezes ! in a warm sunny humid climate ? in a cold dry climate ? I leave my house once a week to get food or what ever at 6:AM and im done by about 6:30AM so no crowds no traffic about 2 miles from my house , I fill my car with gas once every month and a half or more I have a back yard for the dogs to play in , a garden area for me to play in and grama has her flowers, so im pretty lucky living out of town ! I feel sorry for people living in a big town or city in an apartment stuck in a box with no job and nowhere to go I left NY the Bronx in 1959 and retired in Washington state in 2004 outside a small town to get away from crowds of people in a hurry , this virus will pass but will we learn anything, will we stop and take a breath and look around to see whats going on around us, the world is getting smaller !
UV rays from sunlight are natural virus killers, it can not become airborne outside on a nice sunny day. It's when we are all trapped inside when the normal cold and flu season hits. My brother in Tucson bought himself a UV light (hi output) and puts whatever he buys under those lamps in his garage before he brings anything into his house. They are on a timer because you can not be in the same room with those lights while they are on... they are dangerous to your skin/health

And Trump is suggesting UV rays and drinking Lysol or bleach to kill COVID. Maybe tanning booths with bleach rags will fix COVID. On a personal note, I'm waiting for a test to be done (This one: https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diagnostics/4992-echocardiogram-transesophageal-tee) to prepare for Mitral valve surgery. So I might just die from a heart attack before COVID takes me On top of that, Personal problems in my domicile are forcing me to leave. I'm making arrangements today to put my stuff in storage and go find a new venue so that I can wait this out. My question to myself is: Which potential catastrophe will win out? Y'know what? It is what it is.
My new answer phrase for the last couple of years to relieve my sorrow. Getting warmer here as summers coming down. Hope it will stop sarscov2 in its tracks. sarscov2 seems to not like whitexicans either
I wonder how many trillions are at stake for these players (FDA - big pharma): https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0166354220302011
Time may be ripe to buy stock in Merck, who makes Ivermectin before the price goes through the roof. Worldwide the current cost is around .12¢ per dose. In the U.S., if this stuff works, I'm sure it will soon cost $12,000. per dose Edit: Strange coincidence...just ordered some for Saylor earlier today! Maybe I'll get some extra for myself
