dell makes i660 computers with windows 7 prestalled and windows 8.1 preinstalled both have the same bios. If I bought the windows 7 machine can I pull the the key from the bios for the windows 8, after using the generic 8 key? Thank you
To have the same BIOS does not mean to have the same licenses. Vista / W7 are licensed with a complete SLIC, w8.x with a unique MSDMTable serial. You can run rw-everything on the w7 machine to have a look if it has a legit MSDMTable. If yes you can pull the key and use it to run a w8 license. You even can run the w8 license on a different PC, it activates online if not activated already....
