So i have a vostro 1015, so I was doing a bios update, when it was halfway there I accidentally pulled the power cord and it shut off. So now it turns on, but it shows nothing. I’ve tried many methods to recover the bios the key to activate the recovery is the END key. I’ve put the Phoenix recovery system and nothing it’s just sitting on solid scroll lock and amber battery and full speed fans. I’ve put many hdr files including the required bios.wph for the phoenix flash system and it just sits there doing nothing, if anyone can help me with this, I would appreciate it
Bios recovery successful! Preparing the BIOS for recovery Download BIOS for the laptop Open CMD open the app with the parameter /writehdrfile You should get an HDR file IMPORTANT! rename it to exactly VM9M.HDR as it is case sensitive Copy to usb drive (preferably under 2gb fat formatted) Recovering the vostro 1015 BIOS Unplug the AC and remove the battery Plug the usb drive on the ride side top stack While holding the END key, plug in the AC adapter Hold the END key for 3 seconds after plugging in AC then let go The battery led (amber) and scroll lock should come on and the fan should be spinning loudly In a few seconds you will notice the battery led will flash amber and blue The laptop will then restart itself with a message saying "RTC mode fixed - time and date may be wrong" then "time and date configuration not set" With that you have successfully flash/recovered the laptop bios
