Enterprise don't have wmc package Code: Microsoft-Windows-MediaCenter-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~en-US~6.3.9600.16384 change en-US for other langs
My system is zh-TW. But now I made it with only en-US package. Remember my first step that copies relevant language files? So the question we need to ask is: Why the WMC package would not extract ehome files to their place? (It has no such issues with Windows 8.1.)
Yes, i did forgot about that, if it was Windows 7 then WMC was available on HP,Pro,Ent,Ultimate. I do have Windows 7 Ultimate MUI ISO too but you need Windows 8.1 WMC Packages.. Ok if possible I will try to make one and provide you the cab files soon.
Only lang files .mui not copied? or all ehome folder files? maybe MediaCenter feature is disabled (but the reg setting in my pack set it to enabled)
Hi. First of all, great thanks to all for this amazing work. I report here an issue on media centre crashing while playing live tv HD channels, whereas it works perfectly for SD channels. Some details on my config W10 1511 (10586.3); France TV tuner DVB-T Hauppauge Nova Stick 5.1 sound system (Yamaha YSP-400) attacked by NVIDIA GeForce GTX660 HDMI output (then goes towards TV, thru Yamaha) [used to work perfectly in W8 with windows media centre (videos, LIve TV SD+HD, 5.1 sound decoded by Yam sound system)] . I've got microsoft DVD player installed (updated to W10 from W8.1 w/ media centre) I had LAV filters installed I first installed WindowsMediaCenter_10.0.10134.0 you ported : - worked well, all live TV channels played SD & HD - recording channels ok - limitations : partial EPG contents and no 5.1 sound... (neither from local movies nor from live HD channels) so : I desinstalled, subscribed to this forum and installed WindowsMediaCenter_6.3.9600.16384_x64_v8 launched 1st time WMC as admin install worked well, as well as live tv setup then: - no sound on 5.1 HD videos, yet image is ok - live tv sd channels ok : video + sound - hd channels : trying to put them make media centre crash (freezes + windows error message : try to restart) - restart : select other channel : WMC complains that former channel was under recording. I installed Shark007 advanced codec pack tried to apply settings recommended by dbdesign from post #1948 no change any idea or advise ? thank you in advance
It failed for me both online and offline. So I manually ran the commnand of your script one by one, and realized that the WMC package ran successfully without copying the ehome folder. But it worked fine on Windows 8.1. Edit: Between 10586 Enterprise and EnterpriseN, OfflineInstaller worked fine. (But the OnlineInstaller still went wrong. And both without apps, so I cannot find DVD player though the KB found and installed thru WU.) I will reinstall a Pro edition and feedback. For OfflineInstaller, we can use language package instead of language files. Q: Can we extract and use the updated DVD player KB3106246 package?
Yeah, you're correct, but it's mentioned as an optional step, not as a workaround to a problem of the pack not installing correct.
2 additional points after some more tries: - speaker setup inside WMC is not functional : I mean, in W8, I had a menu and I could select I have got 5.1 speakers, etc... Now when I select speaker setup, I just come to a troubleshooting text ('solve issues linked to speakers'), without possibility to adjust anything Is it something "normal" or not ? - concerning my TV HD channels (France), Arte HD is working (H.264, yet sound still stereo) while TF1HD or France2HD cause WMC to crash (H.264 and sound is E-AC3). So I suspect strongly audio configuration.
What I did to fix this issue was to schedule a task to have ehrcvr.exe start when computer starts. It seems some installations don't have this installed by default. Windows Search "Schedule Tasks" Then schedule a basic task. Select C:\Windows\ehrcvr.exe and "when the computer starts." Then set it to run as administrator with highest privileges. Enter your password, and you should be good to go. Working great now on my Harmony 650.
@lolo91, I live in France too : - For speaker config bug, it's have been reported, no solution. - For HD channel, I have all of them working. Just select Microsoft DTV-DVD codec (audio and video) in your prefered decoder settings (I don't use Shark codec, but only KLite and Haali Media splitter for MKV). If you installed DVDPlayer app after WMC it should work since Microsoft codec s are installed with it. In a previous post there was a shortcut to an utility that makes the job. Search MCDU.exe.
Yes, so far offline integration is the best way to install the package you can even install both main and LP in one dism session You can extract the .msi and use dism /Add-ProvisionedAppxPackage to integrate the app but.. this will cause WU to fail to install the update after the boot and if the image is already installed system, you cannot provision (add apps) offline with dism
Thank you, I missed this post... It sounds I have the same issue as you : HDMI output (NVIDIA), same type of crash could you give me a bit more details on how to find / replace msmpeg2adec.dll, so that I can try also. Is it the one in system32 or in SYsWOW64? (besides I updated my NVIDIA driver, yet no change)
Take ownership of C:\Windows\System32\msmpeg2adec.dll, rename it, and copy the same file from Windows 8.1 to this location. Did you update your system to 10586 build?
Done for msmpeg2adec.dll. works (WMC no longer crashes on TF1HD). I'm on last build (10586) Yet, I experience only 2.0 sound at this stage (not sure they are broadcasting in 5.1 currently) Do you also have a non working audio setup menu ?
Thank you. Yes I do. I think that there is a workaround somewhere on this forum to set 2.0 or 5.1 audio in registry...
@Graznok and lolo91, I'm connected through a DVI port, that's why I don"t encounter any crash with HD channels. For the sound, I remember that some channels were available in 5.1 when I was on Windows 7 ("Dolby surround" was displayed when I made a right-click), and now there is only one 2.0 sound. Not very important for me since I just have a 2.1 speakers system. I don"t have any Windows 7 machine running to check this. With Windows 10 1511 10586.3, no particular problem with WMC (just needed to reinstall V8 but all my previous settings were in place).
