Unless you know something that I don't, #4 isn't a solution since the DCA will fail (and playback will fail) because the virtualized video path does not support content protection. At least that is the case with vmWare. I suppose I should try Hyper-V as well.
DCA can be forced as passed, no idea if this is enough to allow the playback. HV is not a solution for local use, when multimedia is involved. It's a good solution if you have an Homeserver, especially enabling RemoteFX
Forcing DCA to pass will allow setup and recording, but not local playback of protected content. It will allow the protected content to be streamed to an XBOX 360 extender.
It has been deleted on your request T-S... Is it that hard to communicate to tdulcet that you do not want mirrors? And when tdulcet is saying 'I completely understand why T-S does not like mirrors of his installer '....it should be no problem to come to a consensus on your own...(you both via PM maybe?) @ T-S and tdulcet. Would that be possible?
I mean that forcing DCA to pass because you don't have a protected video path on the virtual machine won't get you local protected playback.
I tried treating the symptom before, when I imported the entire Media Center section into 14393. Still looking for the real problem. Have a look in your Event Viewer. Are you getting the EhRecvr/ntdll.dll error in 14393? Better yet, is anybody getting that error or Is it just me?
Yea, exactly. Why is this even a discussion any more ? This is just a waste of a posts. Let's get back on topic here. If you don't like where it's hosted, or it's compression format, DONT DOWNLOAD IT and go away. The created decided to do this and it's HIS CHOICE. Drop this subject or take it to another thread.
I agree, The Author should have the right to decide where and how his creation is available for download.
