Ah no, I don't record directly to NAS. I record to the local C drive, and when the recording finishes I run a PowerShell script to copy the recording to another media centre (c drive) and to a NAS via my network. ( so I can archive any interesting programmes or films for later viewing) I found that if the 'other' media centre was recording when files were being copied to it's hard drive, the record could sometimes get corrupted ( I assume due to the high write rate). So in the script I would check if the media centre was recording via flag triggered by the Event ID 27 before copying . The flag was reset by Event ID 3, which is still available in W10. So I hope you can see why having a means of telling if WMC is recording would be useful? Thanks.
Thanks for the response. Alt F4 is working now, but I don't know why. It didn't work at first when WMC was open in fullscreen, but it did work OK when I windowed it. Then when I made it fullscreen again, it also worked OK. The moon button on the keyboard sent the pc to sleep. I'm not sure that my remote, a Harmony 200, has a button mapped to moon, but wouldn't that also send the pc to sleep? I would like to use EventGhost but I cannot load the Generic HID driver so cannot receive commands from the remote. Working on that as a matter of priority! The taskkill command also worked to close a windowed WMC. Some of these problems may just be related to Win 10 on Kaby Lake. I really don't know but I am largely unimpressed by this OS on this platform.
You got something against reading? I gave you a link to the xbox project in the last response. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...ible-alternatives.61061/page-409#post-1350335
I did READ the post you linked to! Windows 10 has been updated a lot since the posts you linked to. It was a simple question "does it still work" that's why I stopped coming to check on this thread because it's really difficult to get a simple answer to a simple question. Tell you what never mind!
Thanks for the pointer. I found that Advanced MCERemoteMapper did everything that was necessary. Regards
Hi, I am having trouble downloading V8.8.1. I have gone back to page 1 and followed the links to download the package. However when I try to download I get a "problem loading page" error when trying to connect to the datahost site. Am I missing something? Tia kip Edit Sorry to bump this but I would really like to get a copy of V8.8.1. Is it available? Thanks kip
I've had it running on all updates since AU through current CU and yes the store app free download works very well. With DVR subscription it also records well using HDHomeRun Prime (HDHR3-CC) with cable card. You will get a suggestion to download the store app MPEG2 to aid the DRM playback. Gave up on WMC after Win 10 10586.
Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear. I wasn't referring to trying the HDHomeRun DVR, but rather trying to see if the things klownicle mentioned would change things for WMC in Windows CU.
Is anyone using Plex with WMC? I want to use WMC for Live TV and Plex Player to handle videos and be able to launch Plex from WMC and after closing plex it goes back to WMC I found the Plex Integration but that doesn't seem to work. How are others handling Videos with WMC on Win10?
Some how my primary HTPC updated to 1607. I reinstalled WMC (6.3.9600.16384_v12), but ehrecv will not start. Has anybody got WMC to work on 1607 or 1703?
Yes, it will work fine. At this point if you have a backup image I'd use that first, otherwise you'll need to run the reset settings batch file in the WMC v881 install folder. If you have a backup of your settings you can then run restore settings batch file to get everything back the way it was. If you don't have a backup you'll just have to run through the whole setup process again...
There is no reset settings batch file in 6.3.9600.16384_v12. If I download 8.8.1, to get this file will it work with 6.3.9600.16384_v12, or do I need to uninstall?
