Just opt into insider program let PC restart. Your see update then, restart again after its installed. You can then opt back out of insider program and restart 1 more time. Easy way to upgrade for anyone unsure.
I did not get that update just 17017.1000, but I did try to update with that cab file and did not work.

Is it correct that ESD for ISO for 16299.15 is 3.95 GB for x64. I have downloaded esd from the link here. This en-windows 10 multiple editions 16299. x64 dvd. I want to put it to physical system today on weekend. On cloud ru link (now gone), it was 4.46 GB but I trust the links on MDL and have done so since I knew about it way back in 2009-10.
I just restarted my system and it is now at 17017 build but in the update page of settings under "Windows Insider Program" it states under "What kind of content would you like to receive" It says"This content is currently on an older release of Windows. If you select this, we will continue to send you content from your current release and will move you over as soon as possible" Now what the hell does that mean.... Why did I get this build when my system is set to ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT OF WINDOWS
What don't you get about FAST and SLOW ring are reserved for new IP's aka RS4 rs_prerelease and ReleasePreview ring is for rs3 early driver, update access?
to get the service pack without stopping insider just change your service from the fast or slow ring to just fixes apps and drivers and it will start to download right away simple
Really..... I opted out of RS4 on my main system two weeks after it started. So yes I understand very well what FAST and SLOW ring is....
You're trying to compare two different kind of container formats with slightly different contents - it would be better to give it a read beforehand.
I somewhere posted the file sizes and what the difference is but because of the many useless posts i can't find it anymore.
