So this is pre-rtm acording to wzor, and if u use this it will offer you a free upgrade in the end? does that free upgrade allow u to install the final rtm with clean install or must you only upgrade over another version to get windows 10 final for free? because then that sucks. i will only do a clean reinstall when final rtm is out.

I just updated to this and its 100x better than the 61 build, my taskbar and start menu bugs are now completely gone.

There is no doubt this one is better in term of stability when compared to the previous build. 'Asphalt 8: Airborne' game that used to crash in build 10061 is now working perfectly well and so are many other apps.

I don't think one can make a reasonable statement about stability after this short time of availability. :)

I completely agree with you on that statement. The stability notion is subjective to what have been tested so far to the moment. Generally, there is no point in saying it is stable but comparing this build to prior one there is no argument it is more stable in relative term. As Microsoft inches closer to final release date we are seeing it becoming a better preview. I think that should be one of the reasons it is now called 'Insider Preview' rather than 'Technical Preview' and I can't really vouch on that claim though.

I posted this because I think it'd be better to wait a longer time before judging about the quality of an release.....
While doing a bit of moderating I discovered those statements about 74:

As they say, Your Mileage May Vary.... :)

Two different machines behaving differently, both installed same version, from same ISO, all x86. Go figure.

On my AS SSD Benchmark, 10061 is 500 points better than 10074, I have no idea why...

the OS will get slower as it reaches the final version more add on features will slow it down.

    Well, sure.

But anyway is not hard to see something evident like the square start menu working flawlessly on 10074 and not working at all on 10061 or like the network settings disabled

Start menu working flawlessly is a sort of wheel of fortune.
    1. Upgraded 10049 Ent en/us to 10074 Ent via esd: no sign of life from Start. The feelings were good, though.
    2. Back to 10049, upgraded again to Ent via official MS iso: same issue.
    3. Format and clean install of 10074 Pro: Start menu pops up, at last. Install updates and a couple of programs, customize as usual, reboot a few times, everything is okay. After an hour playing, all of a sudden Start menu refuses to launch, once and for all. AdiĆ³s.
I was blaming my rig, but I see the very same issue occurring to professional testers on machines supposedly better than mine:

But it is a huge improvement ..... maybe not compared to windows 7 but from any of the other windows 10 tp our beta testers have been trying to deal with on a daily bases. These tp are released faster than GPU drivers and are less stable or feature packed. Yen we just know you need a M$ onedrive and are dying to talk to cortana :D.

    Regards
