Funny, I consider the LTSB / LTSC version the least trash of all the Windows 10 versions compared to the others (and don't get me started on the even more trash Windows 11). I am still running Windows 8.1 (main) and Windows 7 on my main PC, and I shall switch to 1809 LTSC when Windows 8.1 goes out of support, having kept a running copy on my PC to see if it works right. I "jump on" it only to download it but not to use it, not immediately anyway, as the 21H2 LTSC goes out of support sooner than 1809 LTSC. Stay with your "great" Windows 10 (non-LTSB / LTSC) all you want. Nice to meet you. Goodbye.
2042 works fine in Enterprise Version 1909 (Build 18363.1916). It throws up a "please update windows" error but you just click okay and it goes into the game with no issue. I updated from an old LTSC build a few days ago (because this new LTSC wasn't out yet), but man it had so much bloat and crap in it. I accidentally got that older version because I misread the details. I'm currently planning on doing a fresh install to this LTSC, once I get it onto a USB, I'll report back here when I do the install.
I think you got the right answer here. I decided on NON-IoT for now since I run KMS for Office 2021 LTSC already. Like you said I can always convert to LTSC IoT later
Its been noted by a few others, but they seem to have made a small "oops" on LTSC release. MicrosoftWindows.Client.CBS_cw5n1h2txyewy gets installed in %windir%\SystemApps, however if we look at the manifest we see it has a dependency: <PackageDependency Name="Microsoft.VCLibs.140.00" MinVersion="14.0.26706.0" Publisher="CN=Microsoft Corporation, O=Microsoft Corporation, L=Redmond, S=Washington, C=US"/> Except this dependency is not a provisioned package (unlike the standard 21H2 builds). This will cause some EventLog messages complaining, and will also apparently break the "Snipping Tool" along with potentially whatever Client.CBS provides. The fix is just to add the missing provisioned package from the Inbox Apps ISO.
Does anyone know if there's an "N" version of LTSC 2021 (non-IoT) that doesn't include Windows Media player, skype etc bloat? I couldn't figure out which one it would be from this list. What is the different in 2021 between LTSC N and Non-N? Why everyone want convert Ltsc to IOT right now? 1) LTSC will stop update in 2027 2) you're gonna upgrade as soon as 11 LTSC is released

Me and a friend are / were still on 1809. He couldn't get BF2042 to work on it so he installed Pro a few days ago which worked. In all the years of using 1809 I hadn't found a single game that wouldn't run. The only thing I had problems with was FC6 whinning about the wrong version because of DXR but the game still ran. Getting ready to to reinstall this new LTSC tomorrow so I'll have to play around and see what happens. just hope my 980 Pro doesn't die again .
Server 2012 R2 is having updates until 2026 with ESU and it'll probably install on 8.1 too, I wouldn't worry about that too much.
